The Martin Inn
Pictures today of the Martin Inn on Dummersdale Lane Scarisbrick.
I have not been down here for a long time and the pub is not how I remember it.

We used to hang out at The Martin circa '73, it was very popular at the time, I remember driving home after last orders and seeing various cars stuck in the ditches with their rear ends skyward. Those were the days.

Fantastic! I remember circa '74 you couln't get a seat after about 8:30 and one of John Mawdesley's favourite songs of the time "Your Song" (the Billy Paul version) became almost everybodys favourite and was never off the jukebox! Happy days.

I thought Gorgeous George was the landlord?
(His father in law used to run the VERY popular Liver Pub in Waterloo!)
Are John and Diane still running the Leigh Arms?

One of the cars in the ditch was probably my Father in law, I know he's done that before. Couldn't get it back out and had to walk all the way back to his part of Scarisbrick over the fields!!

Nope - it should be Martin Lane. The pub is on the corner of Martin Lane and Merscar Lane. Drummersdale Lane is at the other end (Olverson's Farm is on the corner).
Martin Lane used to run from the original Lordsgate Lane (before it was dug up when the airfield was built) down past the Martin pub and Harold Neil's farm - now Freshpac (Gibbons family), down to the railway where it joins White House Lane which comes out back at Bescar Lane.

I remember a guy called Lee Finn drove into the ditch with his fiat Sports car, it looked extremely comical He left it there and returned the next day, couldn't remember a thing about it until his mate reminded him
