Thanks Alliness I shot them all hand held too ! (no tripod) Bit gutted really, if I took my tripod they would be even sharper.

Really?? Well tell you what, you must have a steady hand!!! Extra big pat on the back for you then cos they look great to me!! Don't be gutted! I think they look great! You can always experiment more with the tripod and post the difference in sharpness :P

I think they look great! You can always experiment more with the tripod and post the difference in sharpness :P
hehehe Well.. the lense is a VR (vibration reduction) and I bumped up the ISO which gave me faster shutter speed, so its no so much a steady hand :-)
Im not sooooo gutted, I just know that the photos could have been better, more mega pixels are all very good but you then need to be even more steady to capture that detail I want. Raising the ISO ye loose quality(sharpness) too. Getting there though

hehe ... ahh right, so the equipment helps too But even so, surely the VR reduces the vibration but cannot stop it/completely counteract it, therefore there must be an element of steady from yourself? After all it is the photographer in control, not the equipment
Well, anyway, I for one am still very impressed! I look forward to seeing more
