Barre des Ecrins
I mostly take mountain-landscapes and mountaineering
shots. This is a photo I particularly like, as the fresh fallen snow makes everything look so "clean" !
The Barre des Ecrins is a 4000+ metre summit near Briançon.
The 30 cm dump of snow was unexpected ( mid-August),
though not unusual.
Higher up the mountain, the quantities of snow increased-
up to 70 cms-and unfortunately, on this ocassion, the summit was not reached !

That photograph is nothing short of spectacular! Have you thought of going into the picture postcard business?

awesome photo, in the literal sense of the word. It's cooling me down just looking at it. Being a non-pro copyright holder of such an excellent picture, and of a remote location, it's only fair that I beg you to show your love to the world by uploading it to wikimedia commons

Thanks for your comments folks !
The photo is a scan of a 35mm colour-slide , using my
Epson flat-bed scanner and adapter. The camera was
my faithful old Rollei 35, bought in 1980; nice and small,
fits easily in a pocket !
My mountain-photography fits into two broad categories:
subjects that will result in something "special" and others, that show people or some technical detail that I want
to record. I still use slide-film for the first, the digital
camera for the latter.
