Seriously Would You really like to be a billionaire
I would not! I cannot think of anything that would be more boring. How many large mansions can you live in at any one time? How many times can you travel to countries worldwide before you get bored? How many parties can you attend or hold, before you get fed up with the pretentiousness? How many times can you dine out with people trying to get your attention all the time before you give up? Do you really want a lot of pretend friends around you trying to get as much as they can? Would you really like to live in a house with body guards around all the time? Never have any privacy?
No definitely not. I am quite content as I am, I have all I need.

It doesn’t buy the things most important. I am more content now than when sold a business and had lots of money. Neurotic about home security. Bad relationships. Used by a few people. Lost most of the money. Happier now.

Depends on the individual I imagine, would certainly hate the scenario that Said describes, would love to have the wherewithal to do something helpful or useful to others, the problem would be doing this without attracting unwanted attention, guess I'll simply stay as I am and be content.

+ A clean bill of health.
Orwell said "If there is hope, it lies in the proles." Whilst champagne socialists see diversity idealised at university, the common folk experience it first hand in their neighbour hoods.

Depends how you deal with it, from a personal level no but to be able to do so much for good causes would be amazing.
Anyone watching this series of Hospital based around Liverpool's various hospitals, with billions in the bank I'd be down there with my cheque booking paying for cancelled operations, funding ICU beds the list is endless.
As that is never likely to happen from a personal perspective, I am warm, eat what & when I want, my bills are paid with money left over, I enjoy foreign holidays, I am in good health, I have time to volunteer & fundraise for Queenscourt and I have loving family & friends so as far as I am concerned I am rich.

I wouldn't like the type of life that the OP described. Having said that, imagine the good you could do with that type of money. I don't think anyone needs billions. There must be a point where the amount becomes meaningless.
I'd be happy with a few million to share with my nearest and dearest.

I FEEL like a billionaire being born in the UK post WW2 and living to see my children grow up.
It would have been nice to have that security of money in the bank when we first married but then how different our lives and decisions would have been.

That may be how you imagine a billionaire's lifestyle, but it's not necessarily how they live.
Take a look at a list of the world's billionaires. The majority of them are still working, and I don't imagine it's because they need the money I think that the drive that got them where they are, is pretty hard to turn off. It's in their DNA. Their lives are far from boring, that's probably how they would view our lives!
I always cite Warren Buffet, the world's 3rd richest man (84 billion) as an example of a billionaire whose lifestyle is very unassuming.

A lot of wealth is inherited - for example, the wealthiest man in UK (who is also the wealthiest man in world under 30) the Duke of Westminster, inherited his 9 billion when his dad passed a few years back ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugh_G...of_Westminster
As for having too much money to have to worry about anything, it would be a nice problem to have to worry about (!).

The biggest worry would be the people that are dependant on you & your wealth, you can't get away from that.

True.
History is not so kind to the children of the ultra wealthy.

True. A self made man/woman has a very different ethic than many of those who inherit their wealth. Easy come, easy go!
