Once a wrongful accusation has been made publicly it is necessary to put the record right because any subsequent threads or opinions I give would allow other posters to doubt the provenance of the facts given.

Each of you can only quote one or two cases that you know about personally - I can therefore, assume that I have far more experience than any of you. I have worked in a large number of schools, both inner city and local, part of my work involved pupil counselling - I dealt with a huge number of cases involving a variety of problems that young people experience. Prior to working in schools, I worked as a scientific researcher. My past has been very colourful - I was brought up in one of the roughest areas of England, the Police patrolled in fours and sixes - not just two's. You either had to stand up for yourself or stay indoors. I mixed in many areas of society - from the down and outs on the streets to socialising with millionaires in Soho. Several times I found myself on city streets with no money and nowhere to go, but was always helped out by the shadow people (LGBT people) I have stayed with them and lived among them even though I was an outsider to their circle. During my counciling days, I met up with children who had found themselves parented by LGBT people through no choice of their own. I understood both sides of the problem - it was heartbreaking. You are completely wrong when you say I use the internet to explain my arguments - I use the internet to clarify names and dates. I have an excellent memory, a very wide knowledge based on experience and my social circles involve those who are also very highly educated and very much worldly wise. We each enjoy discussions and will accept when we are wrong, but when we are right we will argue our points stronger than a 5th Avenue Lawyer.

Just drifting off track momentarily, you took an interest in the new ferry company with no ferries and no ports, they now have no contract either, not sure if this is just another Failing Grayling episode, or possibly the government trying to kid us that they were actually doing something to avoid possible delays at ports.

I am not sure what you are getting at here - are you trying to compare my life with your own? Do you deny that some people have a completely different outlook on life to yours? Are you saying that it is impossible to have so many variations in life? I have not lied about what I have or have not done - ever! I could include a great many other things, that are also true - and I dare say there are many people who could match the experiences that I have had, and add a lot more. What is the big deal?

Meaning that generations of my family over hundreds of years have lived in Lancashire/Cheshire, I live in Cheshire and Southport, having spent most of my life in Southport

Imagine a huge fairground, each ride staffed by ex-prisoners. There were literally eight to ten coaches of people, intent on drinking, entering the area every week. There were a huge intake of Irish workers for the new road layouts. Mix this with Hells Angels and several other gangs - and imagine the outcome!

I will go along with your 'wind up' although you all seem to have difficulty in imagining anything outside of a bubble. I was brought up in Southport, that should not stop anyone from travelling around though. I spent many years travelling and have met many really interesting people from all walks of life. There was not just the coaches of skin heads present, obviously. People turned up in their thousands. There are several accounts to support everything I have told you, but as the saying goes "You cannot argue against those who do not know" and those who will not listen will never learn. By the way, I think the guy's name was Zackerman who employed ex convicts. He chose the biggest and the strongest because of the troubles - he was an ex Police sergeant and a really great guy. If people do not want to believe me, that is their problem, not mine.

This is the thread where you blatantly lied on a topic that is so easily researched. We used to have a few members who were experts in the field of genealogy, they would have crucified you in a heartbeat. I notice that one of them read my response to you and "liked" it.

We had a retired friend of the family do our research - he was brilliant. He found all the necessary Birth,Death and Marriage certificates for one side of our family dating back to the 11th century. On my mother's side it will not be so easy going as there is an Irish connection where surnames and place names coincide, and adoptions which will create great difficulties.

That's amazing, considering that civil registration of births, marriages and deaths wasn't introduced until 1837! ... so there were no such things as BMD certificates.

Prior to that there are parish records. In 1538 every church was ordered to keep a record of baptisms, marriages and burials. Not all parishes bothered to record them. However in 1597 Elizabeth 1 put her foot down, and they started keeping records. A few churches may have records before this date, but there are no records prior to the 1500s, and most definitely not for the 11th century.

If you look beyond your own prejudice, you can see that it is ALL true - I can assure you. I was not alone - I could mention at least one other person in Southport, a very well known person in his time, who was even more anti authoritarian than I. The reason that I do not reply to some posts is for the simple reason that I am not always on line, I travel a lot. I believe that I have already mentioned that on this site.

You really do not have much imagination do you? Let me just expand on that which I wrote briefly. We had a friend of the family research the records in London. He did so, finding all the certificates that were available. From these we (seven people) researched church records, censuses and historical publications pertaining to the family name, with dates, occupations and areas to match. The gathered information was collected and examined until we were positive we had the correct lineage.

Now - wouldn't all that have been boring for most posters to read if I had included it all? Heaven's? Is that a knife sticking in my back?
