Is Southport MP Damien Moore getting confused? On his Facebook page there is a letter to the PM about onshore wind farms.
Damien says..." I was happy to add my name to a letter supporting the use of onshore wind energy - one of the cheapest renewable sources of energy available.
Very strange as Damiens name does not appear on the letter.

Confusion seems to be his natural state. His only achievement is self publicity.

Quite possibly this is the letter that was handed to Mr. Moore to consider for his approval.
It is the content of the letter that is misleading. The country that receives more wind is Scotland, the rest of the UK less so. The cost of installation of one 15kW Turbine on a Wind Farm costs around £70,000 producing an estimated 36000kW of electricity. An average house uses about 4000kW electricity every year. So initially the Wind Turbine looks good, each one estimated to provide electricity for around 9 houses. However - the cost of maintenance of the system is about £100 - £200 per turbine per year, new batteries cost according to the system in use, and every ten or so years a new inverter for each turbine is required at a cost of £2000 - £4000. After the first seven years each turbine deteriorates and produces less and less electricity. The system is not as efficient as we are led to believe - they fail to produce the amount of electricity that is declared - for instance those that stand over the M4 produce just 16% of their total expected production. But they do generate income as they are subsidised heavily by the Government and other investors. At present the greatest benefit is to rich land owners e.g. £500 K to the Earl of Moray, £250K to the Duke of Beaufort, Sir Alistair Gordon Cumming and Sir Reginald Sheffield as well as a third of a million £'s to the Earl of Glasgow and £1 billion to be given to Charles Connelly over the next twenty five years. Landowners can expect to receive £40,000 a year for each large turbine erected on their land - this is 'risk free'. The amount of money offered to communities for cheap electricity is nothing more than a bribe while properties are devalued and the land is ruined.

Isn't "add my name" a figure of speech for saying you support something and not necessarily meaning you have physically signed it ?
He might better look beneath the headlines as clearly all the hot air over wind turbines generating ability dissipates when the wind drops and they lie idle.
Just as solar becomes useless without the solar.
Does Labour have any stable policies on wind farms ?
