The bits I've watched I found to be a refreshing change from all this safety first possession crap turned out by the Best League in the World and it's overpaid Superstars.

USA dominant against Thailand. 2nd half has just started.
Am wondering if one of the commentators is going to say that it's like "watching women against girls!" .
Edit: Haha! The male commentator just came close to saying exactly that

Another skillful encounter concluded with Brazil beating Italy, courtesy of a penalty goal by Marta, all time World Cup top scorer.
A Marta "goals and skills" video is well worth a look.
England play their next game tomorrow evening.

I haven't watched a lot of the World Cup but what I have seen is a lack of throwing themselves on the floor like the wallflowers in the male games cheating their way to success.
At Anfield recently the Rugby League played 6 games over 2 days and not one of the players was like the absolute cheating manure that normally plays on that ground.

Champions of Europe they are - an irrefutable fact - however - LL's point about 'cheating' stands good - it is endemic in soccer and - the governing body has shown no stomach for addressing this shameful behaviour.
He referenced Liverpool as that was where he'd watched the 13 man game with - no clasping of hands to the face, no grasping of ankles, no rolling like a Marlin on a hook, no wafting of imaginary cards, no effin and jeffin at the officials - need I go on?
Previous posters have said what a refreshing change the women's game is - I agree.
If 11 over-paid pansies acting as they do is yours and others idea of a honourable sporting achievement then fill yer boots.

Look I'm not saying that there is no diving and gamesmanship in football
There is . But there is gamesmanship in rugby league, in rugby union and in most sports . But to call those responsible pansies is over the top.

All professional sport is a numbers game, their is too much money sloshing around, you can knock over those big strong footballers by wafting a feather in their direction.

Yes there is gamesmanship in Rugby but it carries 10 minutes in the sin bin and your team down to 12/14 men.
I know it is highly unlikely but I would imagine if one of these prima donna footballers went shopping with their WAG (I said it was highly unlikely) they'd look right tossers rolling round the shop floor every time someone brushed past them.

Come On
England .
I thought England did exceptionally well against Cameroon. As for Cameroon, I've never witness such an ill-disciplined mob. They were appalling. But not as appalling as the referee. She should be demoted to reffing school football. She certainly shouldn't be anywhere near a World Cup.
She should have had the cards out as soon as Cameroon stopped playing and surrounded her. I often wonder why they don't do that in the PL either. She should have given them two straight reds. Well done to our girls for keeping their composure.
That's the first time I've seen a free kick from a back pass on TV too. Very well taken. While there's an obvious difference in size and strength, skill wise I don't think the men's and women's games are vastly different at this level.
Highly entertaining.

I was fit to be tied watching Cameroon's disgusting antics. I wasn't quite as vocal as my husband though!
Both of us have really enjoyed watching the women play. I'm really looking forward to England/Norway tomorrow.
