Advice needed | Adult social care.
A middle-aged person who has quite bad epilepsy and lives on their own. Does anybody know of any help from perhaps the local council or other organisations?
This person needs some support, ideally some kind of supported living or sheltered accommodation where there is somebody on hand to respond to an emergency. Thanks in advance, TC.

The persons Doctor may be able to do a referral to Social Services who inturn may be able to refer to Social Housing for Sheltered Housing or give some support, there are also alarm systems connected to a monitoring centre whereby the person wears a fob which they press in an emergency.

Do they currently live in rented property or their own?
If they have property to sell then they could buy a place at The Ridings in Church town or The Woodlands in Ainsdale for example, both as far as I know are warden controlled and so have someone on hand in an emergency as well as other accessories such as intercom, move mats etc.
If they live in rented then they need to ring adult social services and ask for an OT appointment and go on to register with Property Pool Plus and One Vision Housing Association who often advertise homes to rent for those with additional needs.

Hi, all. Thank you for your replies and advice. It is all very helpful.
Unfortunately the person who needs the help is not very forthcoming in accepting any, so I have a bit of ground to make on this one, but I will keep a note of all above advice. Thanks again.
