Usa
So much anti American is written on this forum lately, that to me ,it is very disturbing.
No matter what, America will always give the Brits their backing. (A security blanket). There is nothing wrong with that at all.
They don't threaten Britain with war, like the Russians do...( recently deliberately flying into British airspace)
Where would Europe and Britain be today if the US hadn't stepped in and given our troops a helping hand also sending supplies during the last war.
Many Americans gave their life for us and for this I am totally humbled ..
People's memories are very short.
US Military Casualties in World War II

Navy 62,614 ---- 37,778

Nearly half a million American killed ..and wounded

Absolutely agreed. Although many of us deplore the current president’s views and actions , the majority of people within our two nations will always share similar values and we will always have a ‘special relationship’ despite the inadequacies of our politicians.
Whatever it is - I blame Brexit!

Its anti-Trump not so much anti-American,
the sheep follow the disgruntled losing Democrats rhetoric, obsessing over every utterance of the emetic one.
The reality of the fact that their heir apparent Hilary was beaten by an amateur and an uncouth one at that upsets their sensibilities.
Having spent some time in the US recently don't worry they still like us.

Cherry pick the information all you like! The once great USA is not more than a shadow of itself. It's popularity in the World has dropped to 47th place. It's intervention in the Gulf Wars has only made life worse for the people there. It continually places sanctions on various countries, that affects the normal population, while carrying out far worse atrocities - who is to sanction the USA? The USA has never won any wars - it uses other countries to fight its battles for them! The people of America did not want to be involved in WW2, but they were tricked into agreeing with it. The USA clings to its past history which should have been buried a long time ago! It is now seen as a hugely corrupt and greedy country where money takes precedence over people! Anything can be bought!

USA has shown time and again immigrants who succeed and prosper
achieve their dreams and more.
I cannot say that as much for Europeans.

I think your summarization regarding America, could be said for most western countries ...today's young generation are also seeking success both financially and in life generally. ( owning their own house, car and holidays abroad )
America, unfortunately to some, is still one of the strongest democratic counties in the world. God bless America.

I don't think I've read any anti-American rhetoric on here. Plenty of anti-Trump, sure, as anyone with half a brain would recoil at this racism, sexism, xenophobia etc.
Whether it's his pu$$y grabbing comments, his refusal to condemn Nazi-saluting murderous mobs, or his determination to wipe out any possibility of a universal health care system, I don't see how anyone with a shred of decency or intelligence could possibly support him.
But that's one man, not an entire nation. He'll be gone, sooner or later.

The USA is demi-democratic! American people are not free. If any state wanted to drop out of the United States it would mean an internal war. The leaders of any protest would be thrown in jail and that State would be filled with armed servicemen. The people are fed propaganda on a huge scale - only now are they coming to realise it.
The people are tied with healthcare - they are not free! They are given medication that has not been tested as highly as they are in Europe, some of which has devastating effects. It is a lovely country to visit - but the politics underlying it stink!

USA is not so altruistic their backing comes at a cost as did their supplies in WWII. The Russians don't threaten us with their near incursions into our airspace or seas it is all a game.
Lets not forget they had to be dragged screaming and kicking into WWII and would probably have stayed outbut for Pearl Harbour. Thhey were also late turning up for WWI.

yes - before we come over all dewy eyed about how the Americans saved the world it's perhaps worth remembering these facts -
Until the Japanese lost complete control of their senses America was quite prepared to watch Europe be crushed under the jack boot of fascism.
Until committed to the conflict, the main help offered was lend - lease, the debts from which were only paid off in 2006. (They behaved similarly during WW1 - the British Government was forced to borrow heavily for the war effort. National debt increased from £650m in 1914 to £7.4 billion in 1919).
Britain was allowed to stand alone against the Axis forces by our supposed closest ally for over two years and, America only declared war on Germany after they declared war on America.
Yes sacrifices were made but similar losses were experienced in all countries involved in that conflict.

Even the Pearl Harbour event is in some dispute. Encyclopedia Britanica claims the Americans had been warned of an impending attack from Japan, but took no action. The American people had been strongly against America from becoming involved in WW2, but Roosevelt was keen to take part personally and had already agreed to send a number of destroyers to aid Europe. The destroyers were sent in exchange for a number of American bases to be allowed to be established in the UK for 99 years lease. It the was Pearl Harbour attack which eventually convinced the people that the Americans needed to be involved.
