Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident in Albert Road, Southport, in the early hours of this morning, Saturday 27th July.
At 4.25am ambulance crews found an injured male lying in the road. It is believed the male came off the electric cycle he had been riding.
The man was taken to hospital where he sadly passed away.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of what happened. It is not believed he was in collision with another vehicle.
Members of the public are believed to have stopped at the scene and we are appealing for anyone who is able to assist our investigation to DM @MerPolCC or call 101 quoting log 256 of 27th July.

So sad! Was it a heart attack or did his clothing get caught in the wheel? My sympathies are with his family and friends.

This a terrible accident and thoughts go to next of kin.
Please whoever write these articles can you report
correctly please.
On the other site it states 4.25 and 08.30 on here.
If there's been 2 accidents then I appologise.

If you know something shouldn’t you contact the proper authorities on 101?

What I’m on about is, if you re read the article, is that Police are after witnesses.
If you know something, (your suggestion of heart attack or caught clothing) then call 101.

It would surely be appropriate to let the facts emerge in time and centre our thoughts around those left behind after someone has died.
If anyone has any accurate information then give it to the police.
Value what you have it can go in an instant.
