I've seen them narrowly get missed by buses or lorries, they have no regard for their own safety.
I mean who contacts these people so that you end up with a cold takeaway or pizza....it's a ludicrous system for lazy people if you ask me

I had a run in with one of their chaps riding a motorbike the wrong way down little Shakespeare St. When I sounded my horn he turned round to have a go at me. When I got out of my Vehicle he tried provoking me into a fight.
He was reported to the company, I don't know if any action was taken about my complaint.
Since then I have seen silly and dangerous behaviour typical of people who have no regard for other road users because they are doing a job and have no regard for any one but themselves.

You need dashcam footage, if the Police have enough of it they will have to respond. I read the other day that a high proportion of incidents reported to Police now result iin some sort of action.

Yes imagine the concept of sending workers out on one of the most dangerous and vulnerable forms of transport to deliver rapidly cooling junk food to lazy people to increase the likely-hood of health disorders.

Do they get any form of cycle training, wear protective helmets etc.

While it doesn't excuse them flouting the rules of the road, like Amazon delivery drivers and other poorly paid workers, they are probably under immense pressure to deliver the goods or face penalties.

Those who work at the second hand car places in Little Shakespeare Street constantly drive the wrong way down that road. Anyway - again it is not just the deliveroo cyclists who are thoughtless - along the coastal road today - during the holidays it is very busy. An arrogant LC twit thought that the cycle path did not suit him and was riding in the road, holding up all the traffic! From 50mph it had now become 10mph with a long tail back!

I see bad riding/driving across the board from all groups of user....Worst case within the last week, was a mighty HGV passing my cycle at close quarters on a 40mph main road. To add insult to injury, he deliberately 'fired off' his airbrakes at me whilst half way past.

As you were the slower vehicle why didn't you show some courtesy pull over and let them past.

I'm happy to pull over on narrow lanes, to let tractors etc past with a friendly wave, but this was a wide (and fast) A-road. I was riding correctly, as usual keeping within a couple of feet from the kerb. If I stopped every time I heard a vehicle approaching from behind, I'd never get anywhere.

The onus is on the overtaking vehicle to pass bikes safely, leaving 1.5m clearance between bike and the vehicles nearside. Had he done what he did on his LGV driving test, he would certainly have failed.

I see bad driving every day as well but the whole purpose of this thread was to discuss the Deliveroo Cyclist. Most weeks I have to take precautionary measures when passing the Cyclists, usually when i'm going through Town. Most of their behaviour is annoying and immediately forgettable like most of the drivers I encounter every day. I only tend to remember the really dangerous incidents. I know the Police wont do anything so I don't bother.

You mean the pressure relief valve blew as it does very frequently at the time he was passing you, if it hadn't perhaps the Air Reservoir Tank could have exploded at the time he was passing you but we can't have positives occurring in this negative world now can we.

Nah, considering how he deliberately disrespected me as a cyclist, by passing so close (.5m) I doubt your explanations. He could easily have passed wider (1.5m) but chose not to. Imo, the guy also deliberately pulled on his airbrake ring to make the noise.

I was shown how to do it during my truck training back in the day. We were sat waiting at a set of lights, when a young negress crossed the road in front of the truck. When he instructed me to, I lifted the ring as ordered...The escaping air made such a loud noise, she nearly jumped out of her skin!

Fact is, some drivers consider cyclists to be a nuisance (or worse!) . They believe they have more right than a cyclist to get from A to B, because they happen to be in a motor vehicle. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy is on some sort of personal 'crusade' to clear the roads of bikes, by giving any cyclist he encounters 'the treatment'!
