As to getting shafted by any major power, what and who exactly from the James Bond book of super villain capers do you have in mind for us.

In fact James Bond in Project Fear sounds apposite.

Who mentioned super villains or James Bond? Is this another example of you completely fabricating another's opinion, then repeating it for post after post?

It isn't 'villainy', it's us being in a poor negotiating position compared to economic power houses such as the USA or the EU.

The USA have only one focus - money, money, money! If it was the UK applying these advertising sources to the USA, you can bet your boots the Americans would be charging a much higher rate of tax to the UK. All American commodities sold in the UK cost far more than any other. No - any company that gains profits from dealing in the UK, whether based abroad or not, should pay taxes to the UK.

Maybe just maybe the penny will start to drop. Although I think it's going to take a little longer with this one...

Absolutely no doubt about it. We are in a privileged position within the EU at the moment. We are shooting ourselves in both feet.

We've been played like an old fiddle. Well, around 17.4 million have been. 16.1 of us were not and I guess about 16 million couldn't or wouldn't vote. There's no way of knowing how they'd have voted.

It's the oldest trick in the hard right manual. Blame someone for taking all the money. Look at all you could have if it wasn't for 'them'. If it isn't the EU, it's benefit claimants. If it isn't benefit claimants, it's immigrants. If that doesn't work, scream like merry hell about how much Labour is going to take from you. Blame Gordon Brown for a global crash. Blame anyone. Except the ultra rich, the oligarchs, the tax avoiders, the offshore account holders.

I'd go back as far as the 80s, but certainly in the past 5-6 years, there has been as sinister 'us and them' division in this country. And certain people have capitalised on it, profited from it and will continue to do so unless massive changes are made. Not just in this country, as the atrocities in the USA in the past few days have shown. 'Winners', 'losers', malice, xenophobia, nasty vicious language splintering the nation. We need a political revolution. Wholesale reform from the putrid top down.

Like Canada, it's highly likely that many countries aren't in a rush to get to the negotiating table with the UK, or roll over existing deals they have with the EU. In the event of a no deal Brexit, the UK's tariff schedule allows 87% of imported goods to enter the UK tariff free. As it's looking pretty likely there's not going to be a deal, exporters are reluctant to roll over deals to the UK. Why would they bother? They can export duty free, without having to grant the UK the same favour on UK exports to their country.

If they did agree to a deal, countries who don't have a deal would get a better deal on tariffs. Think about it! Absolute insanity.

We really aren't that useless and whilst it pleases you to believe that a lefty nirvana curled up in the EU's bosom is the only way forward the reality is not enough believe it or voted for it for years.

The EU which you think brings comfort to all its members is currently setting Ireland adrift.

They keep repeating the only way forward is a deal rejected by all sides of the house repeatedly and the biggest losers in all this is Ireland sacrificed on the altar of EU intransigence.

I'd say the fact every motor company says it will be a disaster, America will only do a deal if we scrap the digital tax on companies like amazon are a little more relevant.

Just so you know-I am totally against sending EU Migrants down the mines.
