I find it strange you should say that ... all of these opinion polls, even the ones claiming to be unbiased, only ask a selection of various people in various locations at various times.

Whilst I do agree they can be indicative, I would find it impossible to declare they were totally free from any possible bias.

The polls he does he is 'invited' to take part because he fits a profile, it wouldn't do for your heartthrob to come out on top in a poll for the Sunday Times.

That is the reason why polls are seldom accurate.The polls are supposed to take a wide selection of people of all ages, from all fields and a small proportion of people are used to estimate an outcome. However, the population does not form equal numbers of similar groups, the polls do not represent the different areas where people are from and the polls have no knowledge of how many people connect to facebook. There are just too many variables for any poll to be accurate.
