War Memorial
Last night the 'mausoleum' at the War Memorial have been used by the homeless as makeshift doss houses.
They've left them in such a state that it defies adequate description in polite company.
I can understand people using these as shelter, indeed the old soldiers to whom these edifices stand testament probably wouldn't begrudge that but-
Is there any need to urinate and defacate in there? Is there any need to strew food and drink wrappers in there? Is there any need to abandon p!$$ soaked bedding in there?
You can be down and out but still have some respect for others. These particular individuals don't even reach the threshold for lowlife scum!

Agree with your post but Tory Britain, nothing more nothing less.
It will only become worse once the nutcases in the Tory party team up with the nutcases across the pond

There is no need for anybody to be homeless for more than one night, services are available. I suspect that the animals responsible are probably junkies that have been turfed out of the hostels, hospitals and all the other help available because of their behaviours.

** The issue of urinating, defecation and litter is not just a frustrating matter when it comes to the War Memorial, the problem is worse on the street, back streets, parks and shop door ways that we all pay council tax to have kept 'clean and tidy'.
I realise that people can fall on hard times and I appreciate that being homeless must be difficult at first, but there is help in this town and sefton for them. There is no need for them to continue to exist on our streets. I am utterly fed-up with walking down Chapel Street and/or Lord Street and being asked at regular intervals if I have any change... my patience is wearing thin with these disgusting humans and they ought to be huddled up into a mini-bus, given a brew and a sandwich and take them to a hostel where there would be some social workers and a like.
After-all, when you are as low as the poor sods that sleep on the streets, the only way is up!

Many of the disgusting creatures are not homeless, they are profesional beggars many working shifts at the more lucrative spots, when you donate you are funding their drug habits.

I think your suspicions are very accurate. Most of the truly homeless, down and out people are very polite and anxious not to upset anyone. They do not beg on the streets, they prefer to stay away from people as much as they can.

That is also true. Many a time I have seen these people making their way home, going to the station to catch the train or going into a property - after a hard day's begging. One will go into the betting shop regularly, two I have seen around town are known alcoholics and the others are most definitely drug abusers.
When the trains were not running due to work on the line - there were four of these beggars standing near where the station buses pulled in - they were moaning about having to get a bus instead of the train?
