    Illegal Drug Use/Smoking /Alcohol

There is much in the news recently about poor quality drugs, the number of people who overdose, the effects of illegal drugs, etc.,

Not so long ago - alcohol drinking was banned on the streets. Yet its effects are not as dangerous as illegal drugs.

Smoking has long been banned in public places - yet this has no effect at all on other people.

Why should some habits be banned and not others?

What do you mean, that smoking in public places (where others have to breath in the smoke caused), has no effect on me? Me, who smoked 40 cigs a day until 40 years ago - and have now become totally allergic to smoke?
I awqait your comments with interest.
Age is simply a matter of mind - age doesn't matter if you don't mind

Why are you allergic to smoke? What caused this? Are you sure it is smoke that you are allergic to? What happens if someone has a bonfire/barbecue near you? What about the smoke from cannabis? Are you not bothered by car exhaust fumes? There are far more toxic pollutants in the atmosphere than cigarette smoke.

illegal drugs are just that illegal. hence banned, due to health affects, crime links and social disruption.

Smoking is a disgusting smelly habit with serious health implications and thankfully has been banned in public places.

Alcohol is banned on the street due to social disruption and is banned if you are using a vehicle or heavy machinery.

So what is it your asking?

I know of several people who do not smoke themselves, but live with heavy smoker's - if passive smoking is so dangerous, how is it that nothing happened to them? They lived with it all day and every day - yet R.Castle was only subjected to it when he did live shows, most of his work was as a presenter on television, acting in films presenting a children's show etc., - so how was he subjected to passive smoking?

Of which I have no doubt - it is more comforting to have something or someone to blame for a loved one's death. But his wife has now withdrawn her name from the Charity. As I have mentioned on another post - How does anyone know that a person would not have died due to hereditary reasons, or some other reason? No-one knows what his parents died of?

He was 62 years old when he died and he did engage in many exertions - i.e. he was a tap dancer and he could tap dance 1440 taps per minute, that is 24 taps per second - a record that has never been broken. He was also known for making the longest wing walk in history - on an aeroplane which uses some of the most toxic fuel of any vehicle, said to cause more deaths than actual plane crashes He also did his National Service in the RAF. Roy Castle also played the same tune on 43 instruments in four minutes - and he died of passive smoking?? Can you be sure of that?

Lung Cancer is the most difficult disease to detect and survival rates are poor - people die of lung cancer whether they smoke or not, whether they live with people who smoke or not.

Illegal drugs are just that - but smoking on the streets and elsewhere is very common and mostly goes unpunished. In Poland, as I was informed by a Polish immigrant - people found smoking cannabis are imprisoned immediately. Illegal drug users cause far more violent crime, more car accidents, more crimes in general and many of the homeless on the streets are due to illegal drug use - yet these drugs are not banned, sentences for being in possession are comparatively light. Yet Alcoholism and cigarette smoking are promoted as being unsociable. How does that work?

Do you even know what your typing?

" Illegal drug users cause far more violent crime, more car accidents, more crimes in general"

Yes that's why they are illegal.

    What's your point?

Don't you even know how to use a brain? Must be past your bedtime?
You may even give people the wrong impression asking such questions in public. Think about it - what is the difference in the use of all three habits?

Why is there so much publciity against alcohol and tobacco yet nothing about illegal drugs? Why do people accept the use of these more? Why are they asking for such drugs to be legalised? Why have they allowed some places to legalise them? When you go to a medical facility you will be asked if you drink or smoke - not do you use illegal drugs!
Illegal drugs are not antisocial are they? Cigarettes and Alcoholism are!
Do you use illegal drugs yourself?

People don't accept them, They are illegal you muppet.

I think if you're in the situation where they ask you about cigs and drink you would also get asked about illegal or even legal drugs.

I think you just make up this ******** to have an argument. idiot.

    Yep.

Then there's the carefree inconsistencies and contradictions.

How long ago was it that there were numerous threads here on Q re the deleterious effects on human health of the presence of dogs in public houses?

Edit: I feel this well-known image below has become more problematic than ever!

His wife has withdrawn her connection due to financial irregularities nothing to do with the original reason for setting up the charity.

You claim that "yet this has no effect at all on other people" you must have more information than:

    NHS England - https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/quit-sm...-and-friends/#

    NHS Scotland - https://www.nhsinform.scot/healthy-l...ond-hand-smoke

    Cancer Research UK - https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/abo...assive-smoking

    Gov.UK - https://www.gov.uk/government/news/c...condhand-smoke

    Gov.AU - https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/...assive-smoking

I think I will take my information from a reliable reputable sources rather than 'clickbait' from you, that said you repeatedly fail to offer any facts, links or details to back up your spurious claims.

What point are you trying to make, he died of lung cancer?

My dad died from lung cancer (the primary) in May 2013, in March he walked the Ingleton Waterfall Walk with me often leaving me behind on the steep uphill bits, somebody with undiagnosed lung cancer can appear to be in good health and show no symptoms.
