Should busking be banned from the town centre
Should buskers be banned from the town centre? Some of the buskers that appear regularly on the streets are no more than elevated beggars. They have absolutely no talent - like the religious couple who play funereal music, and the accordion player who seems to know only two tunes, etc., While other buskers are talented and perhaps need extra money to help with their studies, or need the practice for a career in music.
In England and Wales a busking licence is generally required, and certain rules apply as to the time buskers are allowed to perform and where they are allowed to perform. I do not believe that Sefton have such licenses, do you think that licences should be required for busking?

Don't know if they do, but they certainly should. Seems the accordion chap is getting everyone down.

Ha!Ha! Then you have never listened to the religious couple. Their output makes you want to cry!

So they are "generally required" in England and Wales but not everywhere in England or Wales.

No they should not be banned , If admin had balls they'd ban the likes of you . Why don't you just do one and leave us all in peace.

They should be banned, it is begging.
Most should be locked up for crimes against music, our cat sounds better, the only one I've ever heard anywhere who had any talent was a girl who sang inthestation a couple of years ago.

I'd prefer the chuggers to be banned.

I totally agree with that. They interrupt if you are in a conversation with someone else or on the phone. I hate having to tell them to go away, sometimes rather forcefully to get them to comply.
However, I can understand people not liking buskers if they buskers are outside their place of work and you hear them all day every day?
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms ... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants, they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

That's true. You can hear some brilliant buskers as you walk along Chapel Street. You can also hear some truly dreadful ones.
When you're just passing through, you can just stroll past the bad ones and they fade away. If you work in a shop where Accordion Man is performing, you'd need ear plugs at best, a good lawyer at worst, as that torture could move you to violence.
At least licences could be revoked if a busker becomes a public nuisance.

Can't say I'm bothered either way, Must get you down if you work in one of the shops nearby and they are tuneless. But generally I find them either entertaining or amusing.
