Once again QLocal's been contacted by several people and businesses on Lord Street about the organ player who has been churning out his tuneless songs for months.
The man and wife team set up outside empty shops and then play for hours on end.
All the music he plays are Christian hymns.
A local business owner commented: "He’s been repeatedly asked to move but refuses and has even got aggressive with the Police who have also politely asked him to move on.
"Seems both Police and Council are powerless to move him but he’s creating a massive disturbance for those of us working in local businesses."
The organ player and his wife say they are doing God's work by playing the music and will continue to do so.

He is playing about 5 chords that when strung together in any order with the piano set on church organ sound like somesort of nonesense hymn and she is just making up the words as she goes along, even my ten year old son who can half play the piano laughs at this obvious nonesense.
Still people donate to them, I just pass thinking it's an obvious scam but deep down hope I am wrong and that they really are affiliated with some sort of charity organisation, a real one and not just beggars tricking vulnerable people with religion.

How is it a scam and why do they need to be affiliated to a religious organisation?
A busker signing pop songs isn't considered to be a scammer nor are they affiliated to any organisation.
Why the difference in perception?

Yes there's money in it from people who freely donate.
Just as they do to any other busker who keeps the money they are given rather than hand it over to charity.

Well you might be right if they are just buskers plink plonking and vamping along on the piano in religious tones and making up the words as they go along and people see it as that then fair enough but if they are selling it as to get folk to donate to a church ( a real one ) or registered charity then it's best that they are affiliated with it and have id for that.
I suppose first impressions often lie, they deceive the naked eye and my impression of them is that not all is right as I mentioned, I suppose I am cynical with having seen it all before and old enough to have not come down with the last shower of rain, I have been around long enough to be savvy... But ..I may be wrong ( I always look at this possibility ) so I will go and ask them tomorrow and if they are just buskers keeping the spoils then good luck to them spreading their word, or see if they are cracking on that donations given to them is for somesort of charity or good cause then I'll ask them what it is . One day a few weeks ago I was passing them walking and I saw the woman talking to an old lady that had stopped, after a cry brief chat ( inaudible ) the old lady was taken by the arm and escorted away slowly, now maybe she was to be helped across Lord st or something innocent like that but my savvy alarm was screaming at me saying they were on the way to a cash machine, I didn't stop and stare .
Yea I'll go and ask them are they just buskers or playing on religion and proporting to be collecting for a real church or registered charity. I'll let you know how I go on tomorrow . See what they say eh.
If the Local Authority can deploy men in a truck when it suits them to gather up the "A" board things saying they're causing an obstruction or danger to pedestrians, WHY can't they move an organ and associated crap pile ? And if he's on a part of the public footpath WHY don't the Police deal with it as Obstructing the Highway ?
