Despite your awful anti-British Bias the reason we will attract inward investment is because we very good at a lot of things from building Satellites to Scotch Whiskey, we are world leaders in film production, music and posh cars etc etc
I know you love trying to run our country down and constantly bleat that we are going to hell in a handcart because we voted to run our affairs.
We are also quite wealthy so foreign companies would like to sell us goods.
We also have a lot of bright young people looking to the world for their futures.
The grownups will sort our trade agreements,
Varadkar today spent some hours with Johnson and is quite upbeat about concluding a deal that I presume will bother you.
it may not happen but at least someones trying.
No-one wishes to run this country down, the government is doing a fair job of that on it's own without outside help, yes we do have a lot of talent and expertise in many areas, but niche markets and production don't give the jobs we need.
Yes as long as we remain wealthy many companies and countries want to sell to us, BUT that will end if there is a return to austerity, and in any event buying more imports is a self defeating operation.
In your own words "lots of bright young people looking to the world for their futures" says it all.
IF a manageable, practical deal can be put together even at this late stage, that would be better news at least, not the best but considerably better than Johnson's no deal scenario, of course a deal would also include a transition period where hopefully permanent solutions can be found.
Time will undoubtedly tell.

You can't help yourself can you any opportunity to run the country and its people down is taken with almost religious fervour.
I haven't quoted niche markets our music industry is worth £4.5 Billion
UK films generated 16.4 percent of global box office revenue in 2016.
The satellite industry £13.7billion (2014/15)
The Scotch Whiskey Industry is worth £5.5 Billion to the UK.
We have world beating industries and Universities turning out some of the brightest people in the world.
Britain is creating more technology companies worth at least $1bn (£786m) than any other company in Europe, according to government research.
It found that UK-based entrepreneurs have built 72 such businesses in the past 20 years, including 13 in the past year, with only the US and China surpassing that number. Germany has 29 and India has 26
Guardian......
There is nothing niche about it perhaps instead of running us into the ground as EU lackeys you might see we are a pretty capable lot.

No-one is knocking what is achieved, but in terms of scale the motor industry is worth over £80billion pa, don't forget all this is achieved while being a member of the EU, leaving the EU with no deal puts so much of this at risk, there is no doubt some business will struggle, some will flourish, the probable credit and debit sheet does not look hopeful.

I think you might with objectivity change that to despite being members of the EU.

Perhaps Barnier secretly coaches Ed Sheeran to sing or maybe he makes whiskey for us.
Juncker is a secret satellite designer ?
We have world class people doing world class work turn and look across the EU tell me which country gets anywhere near us ?
Look at the worlds top universities and find any other EU country in the top 20.
Ask why despite the EU out vote the worlds top tech companies are investing here.
Despite the remoaner gloom and doom predictions .

During the summer numerous migrants attempted to gain entry to this country crossing The Channel on small boats, Boris said at the time that they would all be sent straight back, how many have been sent back?
About 6%, the Home Office are claiming 'more than 85'.

You could bore yourself senseless reading about the Dublin Convention but the inescapable conclusions might grate with you a tad.

You're a little obsessed with whiskey, aren't you? A no-deal Brexit would be as disastrous for that industry as any other.
Ed Sheeran? Really? How many people does he employ then? That great British Institution 'Spotify'? Apple Music?
I don't think that expertise will dry up on leaving. I think that expertise will look where the funding is, and follow it. Whether it is space tech, science, whichever area where we co-operate with the EU will suffer.
And yes, even Ed Sheeran.

Ed Sheeran hints strongly at his views here ... https://www.nme.com/news/music/ed-sh...corbyn-2109985
... but ultimately, as an issue, I don't think he's going to make a big song and dance about it.

I wonder if the whiskey industry or the whisky industry will suffer most.

Why am I a pedant? I just wondered! And if you have to use a name for me, use my proper name and not a slang-type nickname. Thank you!
The point is that I personally prefer Irish whiskey, when I very rarely drink spirits.
And I have learned to differentiate between the Irish (and in part American) spelling and the Scottish. But I think you missed that point?

So, I'm pedantic? I need an explanation. The above is word for word what I wrote. And with your intellect you write that I am: "a person who is excessively concerned with minor details and rules or with displaying academic learning. " Where did I get into details? Where did I display academic learning". Time to get down to earth, Local? Or whatever you used to call yourself!
