Boris is building up a good head of steam as the people's champion at the moment.
It is probably a good time to reflect on the words in the Socialist Worker for those convinced that anti-EU sentiment is an exclusive product of the right;
On one side are the bosses and politicians seeking to frighten and bamboozle people into voting to remain in the European Union (EU).
The bosses’ Confederation of British Industry and the governor of the Bank of England Mark Carney have openly backed the Remain campaign.
Their allies in the European Round Table of Industrialists, the International Monetary Fund and the White House are all for Remain.
This is the internationalism of profit-making. As their records show, they push globalisation for the needs of the rich.
Bankers’ institutions, which push polices that have wrecked whole economies, have the gall to lecture us about the dangers of leaving the EU
The European Union (EU) imposes austerity that trashes workers’ lives.
It upholds racist laws that condemn refugees to drown in the sea.
Some left supporters of the EU say it can be reformed. In reality, it is a thoroughly capitalist institution designed to protect the rich.
The lie is perpetuated by the mistaken belief that somehow EU membership gives us something and an opportunity we will not otherwise get to trade, that fake reality is entirely shattered by the imports that fill our own economy as Industry after Industry has been ransacked and sold.
Whilst members of the EU thousands of companies have gone hoovered up by giant multinationals even our railways are to be opened up further by the fourth railway package
The 4th railway package aims to remove the remaining barriers to the creation of a single European rail area. The proposed legislation would reform the EU's rail sector by encouraging competition and innovation in domestic passenger markets
https://www.consilium.europa.eu/en/p...ilway-package/
What evers left of our railway Industry will be going and with it Jeremy Corbyns aspiration for public ownership he knows he cannot do what he wants to as Europe goes inexorably towards one state.
The railway package is just the start as the monolith expands its grip on us to feed the multi-nationals.

Most European Railways are State owned.

A watered down version of the 4th Railway package passed three years ago. All anyone needs to do to nationalise a country's railway is keep the infrastructure and the trains separate. The same government can run both at the same time. Netherlands and Spain do.
Or separate state owned companies can operate. As in Germany and Italy.
It doesn't stop anyone's plans to nationalise anything.
As for:
Boris is building up a good head of steam as the people's champion at the moment.
Sure, people's champion. Let's look at his options: he can go back to the EU to ask for an extension, or he can resign. Or call a confidence vote in his own government. With those kind of options, his 'head of steam' looks more like a wet fart.
But don't stop believin' as the song goes. There's always some medieval precedent just waiting to be uncovered.
Or he could refuse it all, and be arrested. Fingers crossed.

Boris is hoovering up support from the public sick of the anti-democrats in Parliament frustrating his attempts to get on with Brexit.
The short thinking oafs in parliament are simply bolstering opposition to them.
Their victories are pyrrhic, frustrating democracy is not a vote winner.
There are plenty of Boris's.

Johnson isn't even champion in his own family, to date gives an excellent impression of a fish out of water, must be a severe shock when the bully tactics don't work too well.
You do realise that a good proportion of our rail system is state owned, unfortunately the states are Hong Kong, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, all through their own state owned and operated rail services. Public ownership of rail services is the norm across most of Europe, makes your statement somewhat out of sync with reality.
Yes the multi-nationals have bought up much industry, but just tell me who allowed, no make that encouraged this course, all driven by the financiers of course.

If parliament can keep Johnson under control until after his self declared deadline, then he his finished, a failure, then we can have an election at an agreed date acceptable to Parliament, see how he fares then.

I can understand why Leavers clutch at straws trying to support Johnson's performance as PM. However, stepping outside the bubble for a moment, there are so many scathing appraisals from people who don't have skin in the game, many none EU countries for example. They have nothing to gain/lose, and, apart from right wing America, they are generally unanimous in their condemnation of his leadership thus far.
... and here's me thinking that the old country would never be as stupid as to support a Trump clone.

The 17,000,000 who believe that the chaos would be over if the UK leaves without a deal? That would be the beginning of chaos, not the end. Negotiating a withdrawal deal was supposed to be the easy part, and look how well that worked out.
Had May's WD deal been ratified, or if any future withdrawal deal is agreed, the negotiations for a future relationship will take years. That has always been a given.

There is a feeding frenzy of anti-Boris stories at the moment whipped up by the remoaners you would think they might learn from the lesson with the rug headed one over the pond.
He was lambasted from all angles legal challenges, old tapes, videos you name it yet the emetic one triumphed.
Or maybe the same theme with Farage bashing before the Euro-Elections which he triumphed at
Boris's central message is to enact what the people voted for and that is a very hard message to blot out with tales of his brother and dog.
Telling us he lost votes with a minority government isn't news.
Telling us he kicked out members of his party who passed control to the EU doesn't go down badly especially when they went against a leader elected by their party on a policy of leaving as he is trying to.
As before you might knock him down but it won't last him or his replacement will just keep coming.
The support for democracy is embedded far deeper than many would like to think.
