Tariffs at the moment are set to suit the EU as a whole whether its protecting Spanish orange growers or French farmers they are not set to suit us.

We pay for imports from outside the EU as an average

35.9 % on dairy.
21.1% on sugars and confectionery.
15.5 % on animal products.
10.3% fruit vegetables and plants.

This helps sometimes but mainly hinders our economy, we have little control over them.

The average EU MFN tariff on food is approximately 22%.15 There is significant variation, however, depending on the type of food. Data provided by the UK Trade Policy Observatory show the average tariff for whole milk is 70%, but for low-fat milk it is 36%; beef is subject to a 56% average tariff, but the tariff on poultry is 14%.16

It simply cannot be said that a no deal brexit is instantly bad the point is to balance tariffs and free trade deals to suit us.

We have wasted years already that could have been better spent negotiating new trade deals in our interest.

Clearly the exceptional 70% whole milk tariff keeps our dairy farmers alive but it cannot do anything other than increase prices for the poorer consumer.
It is a poor example in many ways as importing whole milk, effectively driving it past our own farmers whilst they go bust would not be something to be undertaken lightly but the ability to manage our economy for our benefit is surely a prize worth aiming for.

Accepting the country has made a decision to be independent will not go away, despite the obstruction, the delays, the legal challenges, the accusations the vote will not go back in the bottle.

For how long are the anti-democracy extremists to be allowed to fritter away vital time and billions ?

The longer that is taken in delaying the event - the more it will cost the UK in lost revenue. The business sector is anxious to move on, markets don't wait!

If they disagree with the arrangment, then perhaps in the future - if the electorate vote for them - they can change things. Do they doubt that they would be voted for in their constituencies? Why? Those tariffs don't currently increase the cost of our food but we will need them for the continued protection of the farmers.the increases will be on products imported from EU, the big one will be on beef and dairy from Side.
