The Incredible Skulk
The country is left looking foolish again as the PM is forced, by a noisy protest, to abandon a joint press conference in Luxembourg leaving their PM to effectively tell the world that Johnson is nothing other than a big bag of wind.
The shame of it all.
Don't go to bed angry. Stay up and plot your revenge.

I think that we had already picked up on that

Boris asked several times for the meeting to be moved indoors so that they could both hear what the other one was saying. Luxembourg said no then criticised Boris for not being there. Dirty tricks from the EU again!

There wasn't room to accommodate all the press inside and the 40 odd protesters at the end of the road weren't deemed to be a nuisance, the Luxembourg PM didn't have a problem. Just another case of Bono dodging scrutiny.

Ironically, the Boris comment about the Hulk, was comparing Hulk to the country not himself.
Its the press and media that twisted his comment to make it sound like he compared himself to the Hulk, rather than the country as stated by Boris

Odd that. I could hear the Luxembourg PM as clear as a bell.

Apart from the logistics of dealing with such a sudden demand, perhaps Xavier Bettel didn't like the idea of Johnny Foreigner telling him what to do.

Just maybe that was because the protestors weren't there to protest about him.
Just pointing out the obvious.

Lets be honest it was his foolish moment in the spotlight,
whatever his thoughts on Brexit the UK is a rather large country to annoy and you never know Boris might be Prime Minister for years.
Can't imagine the superior Ms Merkel doing that, she wants to work with Boris to get things sorted.

A large country to annoy? PMSL. What are we going to do? Apart from the fact that the majority of Parliament, a huge part of the population, and the entire civil service probably wanted to give Bettel a round of applause, Fat Al (*gasp*) knows sweet FA about diplomacy, as he's proven countless times.
Inside the EU we can't give naughty Brettel a rap on the knuckles. Outside the EU we're one tiny island against 27 countries.
So Bozo might be PM for years. Who's going to give a spaff?

A large country to annoy??? just a gentle reminder the days of gun boat diplomacy are long gone as far as we are concerned, if you wish to put financial pressure on little old Luxembourg, you may just come unstuck.
Sure the protest were indeed aimed at Johnson, says everything really, how does the old saying go "if you can't stand the heat, get out the kitchen", clearly Johnson doesn't understand or is ill equipped to deal with the "peasantry" who don't think he is some sort of Messiah, born to rule.

Your old class war undertones rumble on.
Boris did not duck the conference just asked for it to be held somewhere people could hear.
Boris is far better held to account by journalists asking probing questions than someone shouting ya boo sucks over a fence.
It is not about gun boats it is about intelligent discourse contrast Bettels puerile comments and Johnsons meeting with Barnier and Juncker.
Despite being political opposed they warmly welcomed each other and went about the important business of the day.

Which comment did you find particularly 'puerile'?

After Johnson's meeting with Barnier and Junker, do you consider Barnier's comment "Almost three years after the EU referendum, I don't think we should be spending time pretending to negotiate" is flattering Johnson?
Bettel is quite obviously frustrated with the UK's intransigence, as are the majority of EU leaders. Three years of wasted time, and still no sign of the possibility of settled deal. The blame for this can't be placed solely on Johnson's shoulders, although it has to be said that I've not seen any evidence of the likelihood of him being able to solve the problem. And with Dominatrix Cummings as the puppet master, I'm not holding my breath.
