Rag meals and puddings,
My mum did the best rag meat puddings.
Does anyone do them anymore.?
It might be an Oldham thing.

I had to look this up. Never heard of 'rag puddings' before.
Then realised my Nan used to make them when I was very young. She wasn't from Oldham, but she was a proper Lancashire lass.
A few of the recipes look quite tasty.

My mum and my nan used to make them. My mouth is watering just thinking about them. I tried to make one, but, although I think I'm a pretty good cook, I'm definitely flour challenged, The filling was good though! I think they're a Lancashire thing.

I'ved tried to make steak and kidney pudding a few times, with litte or no success. The problem is that suet is not available in this country and I've no idea what can be used instead. Any one out there who can come up with a sugestion? Thanks inn advance.

Never heard of it. Sorry. One of the disadvantages of living abroad is that things one grew up aren't available.
