OK! In general the media have to be overcautious in what they print because the penalties can be huge.
But in British Law - Free Speech is still the right of democracy. Written or Verbal. To be a crime, any statement must prove beyond doubt that the author INTENDS to do physical harm to the named person, or must show that he/she is acting to incite physical harm to that person.
In the British courts now, there have been several incidences of charges having to be overturned on this issue, which have been very costly to the tax payer, The courts are far more particular in accepting such cases.
Steve edited your post with his comment in red. As the site owner he has the right to delete or edit any post as he sees fit. He didn't believe that your post should remain as written on his site. And I'm sure that the majority of members would quite agree with his decision. He also agreed that you should be banned.
When you joined this site you agreed to certain conditions. Maybe you should refresh your memory.
On a previous occasion I was banned for publishing material that was already in the public domain and in which case could not be classed as offensive. It was a question relating to the Jewish Holocaust that a Jewish man had written to the Jewish Chronicle about. It was a letter that had been published in the Jewish Chronicle from a Jewish person in trying to establish details that he was often asked about but could not answer. No offence had been committed and indeed, if one Jewish man was posing the question, other Jewish people would be interested to know also.
Not this again. Why do you persist in lying about it? Your quote was taken directly from The Institute for Historical Review, you even cited it as your source. The IHR is a pseudo academic organization that claims to seek "truth and accuracy in history". Its real purpose is to promote Holocaust denial and defend Nazism.

I wasn't the only one to point this out. Posting links or quotes from Holocaust Denial sites has never been allowed on this site. Most people find it grossly offensive.

The reason that you didn't know that Local had once been banned, is because he has never been banned. His account status was once changed to "moderate before posting" by another administrator. This meant that his posts had to be validated by someone before they appeared on the forum.
Local has asked me several times to produce the posts that caused this action to be taken. As it was about 3 years ago, I really don't have the time, or the inclination, to read through every post he's ever made. If he's that concerned, he should try and find out which administrator changed his account status, and why.
Do you have a lot of people who are "moderated before allowing their posts" ?
Are there a lot of administrators ?
My concern is that you allow frivolous and vexatious complaints to impact on those you disagree with rather than those who actually do something wrong.

No, it's quite unusual.

5 people with varying views, likes/dislikes.
It would be very unusual to ban an established member with a good record for the odd transgression. Reported posts are emailed to all administrators. The first one who opens the mail deals with it according to its content. Many reported posts are not warranted, so they are left on the forum. As for bias, more often than not you and I disagree. Have I ever removed one of your posts, or banned you?
You don't use bad language, but you do have a habit of using childish terms and jeering at people. I don't think it warrants "punishment", but if you poke the bear you have to expect the bear to fight back. I say this without prejudice.

Despite it being "unusual" you have no actual reason why I was effectively banned just a suggestion.
How many posts were moderated before posting ?
The answer is i suspect none.
So it appears my crimes of using the occasional "childish terms" and "jeering" are enough to "ban" me yet as we all know the chief proponent of invective and abuse sails through untouched.
Despite my repeated requests no evidence is produced despite it being "unusual"

There are lots of things out there, which are offensive to lots of people for different reasons ... just because something is in the public domain does not make that thing in-offensive.
Take the internet for example - most of the internet is in the public domain ... are you suggesting that no-one is allowed to be offended by content on the internet just because it's freely available?

Ahhh, just a wannabe then - that explains a lot ...
Interesting how when the bear responds (to being poked repeatedly) the poker usually plays the victim card. Personally, in that situation, I'd channel my energies into trying to learn to co-exist with the bear, or ultimately move on to another cave.

It's good to see it's bothered you so much. I guess the action worked.
On reflection I was wrong to post that,
occasionally learning what the "darker side of life" thinks does us no harm. Whilst initially off putting burying things you disagree with narrows your thought processes.
If we don't know what the wrongdoers are thinking we deal with them from a weaker position.
So better get my gloves on.

How can I answer these questions when it wasn't my decision? I wasn't even aware of the status of your account until this year when you started posting unrelated chat forum topics on various news forum threads.
So it appears my crimes of using the occasional "childish terms" and "jeering" are enough to "ban" me yet as we all know the chief proponent of invective and abuse sails through untouched.
I said quite the opposite:

The "chief proponent" is the bear that you constantly poke. I'm sorry that you can't see it, or understand why someone would react so strongly to your insults. Toodles has been a member for 11 years. During this time she has never once given cause for moderation. Ask yourself why Toodles suddenly let loose. It’s not as if it’s the first time you’ve riled people with your insults.

As I’ve already suggested, if you’re so concerned you should contact the other administrators in order to ascertain why your account status was changed.
I’ve spent considerable time this morning trying to find some information. What I have discovered is that all of your posts between 23/7/15 and 30/7/16 have been deleted. On the screen shot below you will see the last post that is visible on the forum is dated July 23, 2015. The next post is dated July 30, 2016. I can see it sitting in the Admin.CP validation queue. It’s also visible to me on the forum, but that’s only because I’m a moderator. It’s not visible to members.
From the time period your posts were deleted, I can only hazard a guess that it might be something to do with the never ending toxic discourses between you and CC. We certainly received a lot of reported posts during this time, all warranted I might add. This could have resulted in someone deciding to validate before posting your comments on the forum... but, as I said, it's just a guess.
Even if the deleted posts were available, which they are not, I couldn’t possibly read through a year’s worth of your posts. Try and find out who did it and why, And please stop asking me questions I can’t answer, on something that I am not responsible for.
