Can't even begin to imagine how that money could have been better spent.
Good job all those clever (and rich, getting richer) people know what they are doing, looking after the country's best interests and all that.
That is what comes of believing everything you read:
According to the Institute to The Government, the total cost of leaving the EU will be a maximum £2 billion by the end of 2020. The cost of membership in the EU was £13 billion EVERY year.

Biggest waste of time and money ever, remember when our International Trade Secrtary promised 40 trade deals the day we leave, including one with the EU which would be the 'easiest in human history'?
Now that reality is biting he's saying that we shouldnt all be focussing on getting trade deals...
They called it 'project fear', its now looking like project reality and it it is pretty damn scary.
Oh well, I hear we've arranged an absolute corker of a deal with Liechtenstein...

Yeah, I know - it's tricky these days to believe anything that's written anywhere ...
so many people make mischief posting misinformation (usually without links to back up what they're saying) and attempting to debunk other peoples posts or wrongly influence others ...
I've even seen a few people on here do that regularly...
I'm sure you'll have an idea of whom I'm talking about

The £2 billion covers the additional funding required for planning/implementing Brexit. According to the Institute for Government, half of the money has been spent on hiring new civil servants.
Bloomberg's £200 billion figure is the total that the UK will have lost in economic growth by the end of this year.
The cost of membership in the EU was £13 billion EVERY year.
Nonsense! Although you've remembered to deduct the rebate, you also need to deduct Public Sector Receipts to arrive at the net contribution figure. Public sector receipts are the amount the EU pays back to the UK in regard to agricultural, social, economic development and competitiveness programmes.
Your £13 billion EVERY year is also way off base. Gross national income is one factor of the gross contribution calculation, and that figure has increased considerably since 1973. See the table below for a true picture of the UK's net contribution from 1973-2018.

Why don't you cherry pick your stats ?
The £2billion you proudly proclaim is for government departments ONLY, nothing close to the actual cost.
The institute for government also states that current government funding for Brexit stands at £6.2 billion, then we turn to the economic costs, Bloomberg shows that £130 billion with at least £70 billion to come, ironically even the Express major Tory butt kissers and Brexit supporter gives a cost of £26 billion per annum, the FT shows a ongoing cost of £350million per week, precisely the false figure we were going to "save".
The whole charade is a massive con job, with the general population carrying the costs, in spite of all the flag waving and tub thumping there is not the slightest indication of benefit to the country as a whole, the fact that the rich get richer means absolutely sod all to those who see their jobs vanish to be replaced with minimum wage, zero hour exploitation.

"The claim: Delaying Brexit would cost the UK £1bn a month in payments to the EU budget.
Reality Check verdict: Mr Raab is right that staying in the EU would cost £1bn a month in budget payments. But his figure excludes any money the government gets back from the EU in grants for things like regional development or supporting farmers. When you factor these in, the figure comes down to about £744m a month.
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab spoke to the BBC on Tuesday about the attempts by Members of Parliament to pass a bill to prevent a no-deal Brexit.
The bill would try to force the government to seek an extension to Brexit (scheduled to happen on 31 October 2019) until 31 January 2020.
Mr Raab said that would cost taxpayers £1bn per month.
He's right that if Brexit were delayed and the UK continued to be a member of the European Union (EU) it would carry on paying into the EU budget."
The sooner we get out the better, then we can apply to rejoin!
Sure, but a rejoin will be on EU terms rather than the terms we currently have, I know at least one poster on here who would be really hacked off if we then had to become party to Schengen.

I can always back up what I say - as above - The Institute of the Government!
Are you stupid, or are you deliberately misrepresenting facts?
The £2bn you referenced above is additional money key government departments are having to spend to prepare for leaving the EU.
The cost of leaving the EU also includes the drying up of investment which is helping to take the costs to over £100bn.
You get your facts from where, mate? There have been no studies, no collaboration, no estimates made of the costs of Brexit! No-one knows how much it has cost! There are no facts to be had! One thing is absolutely sure though and that is that Brexit will cost the country far less than the 2008 financial crash! What you are reading from the media is the usual scaremongering that everyone has come to accept - apart from you. It is based on gross assumptions and misleading information - and unless you have a crystal ball that can really define what the future holds - you are done!
Similarly, the Royal family drama in the media - everyone takes that as fact! What? Since when have the media been allowed into the Palace to take notes on personal conversations? Yet that is what they are publishing and making people believe!
There will be no bed of roses after Brexit - no-one expects short term miracles. But the long term is what we are aiming for and the legacy that we will leave for future generations. That is where the value lies!
