Julie Walters
Just seen the marvellous Julie Walters on the Beeb talking about surviving bowel cancer.
One of my favourite actresses anyway, she spoke eloquently and quite matter-of-factly regarding her diagnosis and treatment. She didn't have the bleeding you might expect, rather her symptoms were indigestion, some vomiting and discomfort. She then had a colonoscopy and they found the tumours in time. Stage 3 though.
It's a timely reminder to go to the docs if you have any symptoms at all of bowel cancer. Or any others, really, but bowel cancer is one of the more common ones. Don't let the thought of a doctor examining you back there put you off. Same if you've prostate problems.
I had a colonoscopy last year. Dreaded it, of course, but family history made it imperative. It really wasn't that bad. Pain killers and a sedative thrown in and I was happy as Larry.
Get checked out, folks. Mine was clear, but I'm still glad I had it done.

Always a good idea to get yourself checked out if you have anything that concerns you.
It is also important to persist if the doctor fobs you off and it persists.
