So someone doesn't like the fact that several of us have reacted to a very negative comment from one poster. The original post is still there, with one comment. The rest have been deleted with no comment. That says a lot. But nothing about the nasty comment that caused our reactions.

The abusive comment was reported (when due to the 5 hour time difference I was still in bed). As soon as I was aware of it I removed the comment. It's also standard procedure to remove subsequent comments which include a quote of the offending post.
I don't quite know "what that says". Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

OK! But I guess that's part and parcel of being a moderator.

'fraid so! About 6.30am dressed in PJs, peering at a screen through bleary eyes and trying to make sure you press the right keys! And, more importantly, all before my first cup of joe!

If the cyclist didn't inform everyone of his ignorant supposition to every report of anything involving cars then he wouldn't get told about it. Perhaps the poster who berated him knew exactly what happened, but then that wouldn't fit DH's agenda let alone the cyclist.

I find that a little unfair. It was quite a logical consideration in view of the fact that the event occurred in the car park of a pub! I feel sorry for PnP, I don't always agree with him but he does contribute some fair points - so saying he should not be at the butt end of constant jibes. I bet the guy is a damn sight fitter and healthier than many of us are.

So prompts the questions, Do you have an abuse alarm on your computer? Or do you just receive a phone call? I bet that can be a bit inconvenient at times.

Actually, my reaction was that the original poster might well have benefitted from seeing what his or her peers think of his or her comment rather than to have have had it simply erased.
Can I simply reply to Little Londoner (who has me on ignore so maybe someone else will quote so he/she/it sees what I write) GUTTER!

I'm extremely conscientious! I sleep with my phone and my iPad under my pillow, just in case there's a vitally important reported post from Q. As an additional backup, I've even considered moving my desktop from the den into the bedroom. My plans were thwarted when my husband refused to rearrange the bedroom furniture to accommodate the desk. I guess he's fed up of me getting up at all hours muttering *expletive* Q.
Back to reality!... the reported post Email hit my inbox around 5am. I didn't know of its existence until I got up around 6 and checked my phone. Despite being retired I'm an early riser. Old habits die hard, plus I'm not a good sleeper.

I prefer the subversive gadget spy depiction actually. It is far more dramatic!
