I live in Banks and it’s all about building more and more houses, with no thought whatsoever to providing the necessary amenities. Banks has now evolved into a small town, although we have NO dentist, a GP surgery that is totally not fit for purpose, one Co-op, which is no more than a convenience store, one pub, which is closed more than it’s open, one Chinese take away which is dreadful, we do however have one traditional English Chip shop which is excellent, but you can’t just live on fish and chips.
Added to this, the Electric goes off on an almost daily basis, the Internet service is poor at best, you’ll see an an Openreach van around, almost as a permanent fixture, the schools are becoming overcrowded, and parts of the “village” are now beginning to flood. The roads are in a dire state, but all West Lancs seem to interested in is, building more houses.

Flood Plain ?
What Flood Plain, a Flood Plain is an area of land that becomes flooded when a river bursts its banks and overflows, that doesn't happen around here no rivers have overflowed. What we experience around here is poor drainage not what Croston & Altcar had a couple of years ago.

It is not realistic to ban all development in these areas - because they cover so much of the country.
But he says homes should only be built there if "there is no real alternative" - and only if they are designed to be more resilient to flooding.
Examples of some techniques which could "flood-proof" homes include using the ground floor just for garages, so people can stay safe upstairs.

Here ya go.. Unfortunately you still can't zoom into it any more than it already is. I'm guessing there may be another site somewhere were the zoom controls are operational but I don't know for sure.
I suppose you could always try transferring the purple areas over to a larger map page from Google etc

west lancs planners have to be the worst of all councils.....look what they have done to burscough and ormskirk....talk about a bottleneck...again building on grade 1 agricultural land....look at edge hill college the land its now taken up...all for useless mickymouse degrees..destroying lovely ormskirk in the process..now going to build on the fields on the rainhill bypass....no infrastructure upgrades to be seen anywhere

It's happening all over the country mate not just in Sefton and W Lancs. Many times local government are powerless to stand up to these big developers.

Still as long as the boss of permission get's his £100m bonus all is rosy in Tory land.
