40 students and 6 members of staff from Meols Cop High School have recently returned from a ski trip to northern Italy. The area visited by the Meols Cop ski trip did not fall within one of the 12 identified lock down areas. However, as a precaution and following developments regarding the spread of coronavirus in northern Italy since the trip returned to the UK, we have been in contact with Public Health England this morning to take advice. This advice, which has been passed to parents of students returning from the trip this morning, and all parents today, is that any travellers returning from identified areas of northern Italy should self-isolate/quarantine if they display flu like symptoms (coughing, colds or high temperature). We have asked parents to be vigilant and contact 111 NHS helpline for additional advice if they have returned from the trip and are showing flu like symptoms.
