…passivity is the forerunner of failure

It would take seismic change, nothing short of revolution, to change passivity into activity. What would you suggest?
- Don't conceive of the electorate as a homogeneous lump! Every voter has her /his reasons; most will acknowledge their preference was not absolute. For too many the choice appears to have been negative, i.e. they voted against candidates for one reason or another, rather than for something.
…I don't see Damien Moore as a HCP. …I don't think he's Cabinet-ambitious, maybe junior minister. That's the impression I've got at the hustings, anyway. Who knows, he may do some good along the way. I think that's true of the majority of MPs.
Most of us know little of the person who represents us in parliament. My suspicion about our MP is that he will have picked up an ideology as a youth. There seem to be a lot of ideologues about.
In terms of personality, some sort of eccentricity moves people to seek elected office. It's a paradox that in that sense our representatives are not entirely representative at the best of times. |

Reforming local government is key to progress. Local governments must be worthy of the de-centralization that is urgently needed, if we are to achieve greater responsiveness from government at all levels.

Oh no! Hope you feel better soon. Awful pain.
Mine wasn't that bad. Had a few appointments cancelled last year, so she decided to go a bit deeper into my gums. There's a lot of jabbing and poking involved.
On a positive note she told me I had good bone density. Then added 'for your age'. I swear she was about 13. I've bras older.
Done for a while though.

I suppose when Labour realise that the Conservatives are not all about those at the so-called top then they might become electable.
Or will they just carry on insulting the electorate and implying they are all gullible?

If you agree with 'he' you are an anti semite.
"A Labour councillor has been suspended by the party for accusing the Israeli government of kidnapping Palestinian children to "harvest their organs".
Former Blackburn with Darwen Council executive board member councillor Yusuf Jan-Virmani made the comments at the authority's annual meeting on Thursday.
He is the third councillor disciplined by Labour over alleged anti-Semitic comments since last year.
The Labour party said it would conduct a full investigation.
The Local Democracy Reporting Service said Audley and Queens Park ward's councillor Jan-Virmani said in the debate: "I am not aware of any animal that is so cruel as the Israelis. Not even crocodiles.
"They bomb schools day and night. Hospitals, they have bombed them. They have flattened them. Refugee camps, they are bombing them.
"They kidnap the kids and harvest their organs.
"They murder by land, sea and air and worst of all the Israelis slander the defenceless victims, Palestinians, as terrorists."

Nothing Anti Semitic in that, it is only criticism of the Israeli Government, it's the first time I've heard of kids being kidnapped for their organs but that could be breaking news.

I see what you did.
You have been told it is not anti-Semitic to criticise the Israeli Government?
That is true.
Does not mean you can be racist to a Government or its religions make up.
Repeating 'Blood libel' and anti Semitic tropes are racism.
