Good morning Southport. It's a beautiful day and we have seen quite a number of runners out taking their exercise this morning.
Please remember to keep your runs local to your home. The roads do seem quieter this morning, which suggests more people are following the instruction to limit travel to essential journeys only.
We appreciate your help in reducing the risk at this difficult time.
Our weekly Local Policing Surgery at the new Ainsdale Community Police Station on Ainsdale Railway Station has been suspended, due to the Covid 19 situation however, Ainsdale Officers Constable 5018 and PCSO 0010 are out on foot patrol in Ainsdale today, and will leave a contact number at the police station, should anyone need to speak to them about local issues. Please remember the government instructions.

The social distancing is totally a
a guide to minimise the risk.
The man is in no way stupid.
Remember next time you use
the ATM seconds after the person
in front. Oh, when you pay at
the checkout and throw your
money at the operator from
2 metres.
Get real.
Hope the man makes a speedy
recovery and gets on with job.

Are you going to post this same generic reply to every post on here today, or are you also just plain stupid?

So how far is "local" for runners and cyclists?
Are they supposed to just go round the block numerous times?

You do make the case for the stupid how are they supposed to use their judgement to stay local.
Most of us could determine that living in Ainsdale and running into Town isn't local and perhaps that "running round the block" would be nearer to the guidelines.
Publishing a set of guidelines to educate the stupid sounds like a massive enterprise.
