With the lack of stock in the shops it's getting that way that daily shopping is needed, Tesco hardly had a tin yesterday morning, Sainsburys the other day had hardly any Fruit and Veg and the freezers were bare. I've not seen a tin of Corned Beef for weeks.

At least you recognise you've a brexit bee in that bonnet - well done! But what has restricting my lifestyle, i.e. being prevented from retiring to Southern Europe with free healthrcare etc due brexit, got to do with anything 'eco'?
Btw, we're still waiting to hear about your chosen daily method of transport......about which you're keeping mighty quiet!

I'm hypothesising that 'local' still houses a bee in his bonnet, due my strong support for the remain camp during the referendum. Otherwise, why keep trying (with great futility, lol!) to have a go at a cyclist?
I don't understand why people seem to think the 'daily exercise' is mandatory! I've managed to clock up 2 miles on my Fitbit Ionic without leaving my small house! A bloke on the news literally ran the marathon in his back garden.
You don't NEED to go out daily, it's not mandatory, stay home save lives!

and when your out of fuel you go to a petrol station, grab that virus ridden pump and fill your car. Then go to the poor sod behind the cash desk and pay over your tenner with now virus ridden hands.
Or
Just do as you're told and stay home and maybe not die or kill someone.
Simple choice I feel.

The daily exercise thing is mentala as well as physical, with areas being closed down people are being corralled into smaller areas an tat makes it worse.

No more mandatory than eating 'five a day', or keeping a BMI in the green, etc. Btw, have never had a 'fitbit'...at least not the electronic type. But can see the advantage, particularly if the weather's foul outside.
I ride out most days for fresh bread, so pick up fresh milk, eggs, meat etc, as required at the same time. No car, so use bike, but there is a limit to how much a set of panniers hold - one Tesco bag fits in each side. I really don't want to start taking a works vehicle out, just for shopping.
My body's accustomed to cycling a 20 mile mixed route. If I stayed in I'd lose muscle mass. A routine like that would be difficult to replicate. Should I give it up at my age, I would struggle to recover the same level of fitness down the line.
N.B. Living out of town on a quiet lane, social distancing isn't an issue. It's rare to see pedestrians down here....So rare, I have been known to put the bins out in the buff!

That's true. It's great if you have your own garden, but for most those four walls can really close in after a while.
I've been going for a short walk, no more than around 45mins, every other day. Luckily 'local' for me is around the pier and beach areas. There are very few people around, and those that are shift well out of each other's way. I see maybe 10 people in the time I'm out, usually one or two folk at a time. So most are observing social distancing. Having said that, it might be different if you live in an area that's just street after street.
One thing I have noticed, that is absolutely vile, is that a lot of people aren't bothering to clean up their dog's crap any more. I've seen it all over the Prom and gardens. I assume the dirty ***** think they don't have to bother as there's nobody around to see them. It's still the minority that's spoiling it for everyone else, but when the country is fighting a disease, the last thing we need is more shite to avoid.

I'm not saying this is right at all but I think the increase in dog poo is because a) more people are actually walking their dogs as they are not in work and b) the council have asked dog walkers not to place poo bags in bins on the roads/parks etc as they are running a reduced bin collection service. Therefore, if you picked the poo up in the bag then you'd have to carry it all round with you then all the way home instead of dropping in nearest receptacle

Accept your first two points, but don't see the problem with your final point, our daughter, who has a dog, was complaining about so many dog owners not picking up, letting dogs run off lead, that in itself destroys distancing with friendly dogs going to other dog walkers and so often the off lead dogs have to then be collected by owners.

With the lack of cars around you would have thought that the Enforcement Officers would have had more time to watch dog walkers.
Shouldn't it be called Antisocial Distancing?

I didn't know the council had asked folk not to put poo bags in bins, bambi.
But still, I reckon if you've got a dog, you've got to be prepared to clean up after it. I know a couple of dog owners who have trained their dogs to use the garden on demand. I also know a few that you couldn't get them to go on demand if their lives depended on it. Mad mutts.
You'd have thought there wouldn't be much else in the bins, given we're supposed to be staying in.

I'm a dog owner myself & bring it home if bins aren't around. I noticed the signs pinned to the bins on the field in the week but they are just paper & stapled on so have probably fallen apart now.
Bins won't be full from other rubbish, it's just that the council have reduced staff so won't be emptying them at all for a good few weeks, so won't be a pleasant job for the binmen if poo has been sat in them for weeks esp if we get the hot weather we've been promised

Nuts!!
I've already done that one but apparently there are a multitude of IF'S you are going to crash into a doctor a nurse an ambulance and any other much needed deliverer of aid, the roads would be absolute carnage if you just went for a saunter down the country lanes. Some of the worst drivers on the roads are still allowed out there but that is their living they are "professional???" drivers.
