Best go and volunteer your services to help them maintain it then! Having worked there for 10 years there is an awful lot of hard work that goes into the upkeep, it's not just mowing the grass!!

Your not exactly independent on the issue are you ?
If the income is demonstrably too low then hold another event that way everyone gets something out of it.
Depriving the town and its residents of access to their asset without full consultation and permission, which this planning application demonstrably fails to do is simply unlawful.
Allowing more caravanners to undermine the hospitality sector is not good for the town.
They bring minimal benefit.

So you are not just a grammar policeman - but you also object to people whose views are not identical to your own. That surely is being narrow - minded because every person's understanding of any topic is subjective. If everyone had the same views there would not be any discussions and sites like q local would become obsolete.
You yourself have made errors in your written work - I would be very surprised to find anyone, who has never made several mistakes in their writing. Did you learn your grammar from English classes, from Latin classes, or are you self taught? Did you learn this course while in the Army or later?

I am not a park keeper, so please bear with me. As local says, surely it is mainly mowing the grass on a regular basis and clearing up after every event? There are no floral displays to take care of, the park does appear to be quite low maintenance. The pond has been cleared and this has been a huge improvement, although it would have looked nicer if some of the greenery had been left in it. So how else is that park maintained?

What does being partial or impartial have to do with it?
I actually know a bit about both sides of the arguement so am in a good position to educate people before they object to something they don't know the facts about.
The Council for all intents and purposes gave the land away over 30 years ago. That is not the fault of the team there now working to maintain the park and put events on for the town.
The reason they have to allow the Caravans on in the first place is because events take months of planning and tens if not hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of financial risk to organise before any money comes in.
Then the Park must use closure days for several days either side of the event to allow for build up, break down and reinstatement of the grounds.
Put that alongside a caravan rally where they only close for the days the vans are there then they work out much more cost effective for the park.
In recent years they have gone over the closure allowance with I believe permission from the Council which is why they are applying for more days - They simply cannot put on another event to raise money if they don't have the days available to them.
If you read the statement from the Flower Show then it says that they want fewer caravan days and encourage more actual events for the park.

The park appears low maintenance because the ground staff keep on top of the work.
Having worked on he park both when the work was subbed out to a contractor and since it has been brought in house, the improvement is massive.
Next time you visit the site I suggest that you speak to them about the work they do there. They will tell you first hand exactly what they do, but things that people don't see or think about is the insurance costs, having the electric main tested, jetting the drains, keeping on top of licences to use the equipment and to spray etc.
Maintaining the metal fence around the perimeter of the park is also a challenge, especially on the west side of the park where it is exposed to the sea winds
As well as this there has been significant investment in new drainage and a new Electric main in recent years that the park has paid for.
The plants in the pond had grown from two small patches when I worked there to pretty much covering the whole lake. They were impossible to control and began causing issues for the fish and birds there.
The Rhizomes of the lilies were in some cases as thick as a human leg and impossible to cut back without a machine.

You only need to step through the gate to the council end of the park to see the vast difference in maintenance standards.
