The Democrats are now going full steam on questioning Trumps mental state to deflect they hope from Joe's issues.
It's already backfiring.
Trump has operated in his own world of hopeless vanity for decades believing everything he does and touches turns to gold.
Who on this earth thinks Trump is the consummate politician and has suddenly got off message he ain't never been on message.
That's the whole point of him the disruptor, the emetic who uses words like weapons and is the ultimate divisive.
His comments on the non or low payers in NATO had the subtlety of a punch on the nose.

If you look at the NATO countries Defence Spending we will find that the vast majority of it is spent on Europes defences, the US whilst spending 2% on Defence spends it on other areas also such as the Pacific, deduct that and we will find them sliding down the league.

Err
it's not just the Democrats
A number of expert psychiatrists and clinicians have been watching him for a while and reckon he is every bit as bad as Biden and worsening faster.
That's in addition to the cluster of professors of psychiatry who years ago diagnosed him with malignant narcissism.
So try again.

In the end, Joe Biden just didn’t have it in him.
The 72-year-old Vice President said Wednesday at the White House that he would not make a third bid for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. The revelation came after weeks of public agonizing about whether he could muster the emotional strength to challenge his party’s frontrunner, Hillary Clinton.
…
In the end, though, Biden thought better of it. As he painfully confided to “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert—and the nation watching on television—he was hardly at his fighting best.
“I don’t think any man or woman should run for president, unless number one they know exactly why they would want to be President,” Biden said. “And, two, they can look at the folks out there and say, ‘I promise you (that) you have my whole heart, my whole soul, my energy and my passion to do this.’ And I’d be lying if I said I knew I was there.”
In the end, he was not.
…yet now!

The Democratic party epitomises the cliché of the big tent applied to political party organization. That's only an advantage if they can keep the whole circus inside the tent!
The Republican party's smaller tent has, still, a plurality of (mostly) white voters for whom cultural issues are elevated over and to some extent obscure economic and other factors that conventional political science had highlighted as salient in voters minds. Deranged, demented or otherwise, Donald Trump has the knack of pressing the motivating buttons!

And sorry to puncture your "research" but "tame psychiatrists and clinicians have been watching him for a while and think his decline is every bit as bad as Bidens" is straight from the Dumocrats press spin.
Trump is an arrogant, loud-mouthed, divisive emetic It is something I have been saying since before he stood and somehow on here it makes me his number one fan
The point is Bidens in the hot seat and clearly suffering from cognitive decline what is this wittering on about Trump to deflect for, it won't fix Joe.
None of this originated from the Democratic party

The concern that he is not just wrong, but also deranged, extend to far more than the Democratic party. Millions of Americans , many of them Republicans, believe so too.
Don't over-estimate support for him. Many of his own party do not supporthim, but do FEAR him,or to be more precise, his supporters.

For over a year the GOP in the House has been trying to construct a scenario where Biden snr was getting money from sources in Ukraine facilitated by his son Hunter ( who is unquestionably not a nice person).
Their case rested on information from an informant , testimony from someone called Devon Archer and a record of payments from son to father,
Devon Archer, when he testified, floored them by saying he had never heard any conversations or seen any emails between them referring to such arrangements; and that Hunter was repaying his father who had paid for Hunter's children to go to school and college because at that time Hunter was deep in debt as a result of a drug habit.
Now the informer has been arrested by the FBI and already admitted that what he had related had some from Russian intelligence.
While there has been much that the House COULD have been working on,the GOP majority has been investing much time instead in this.To a great extent because Trump wanted them to.
Now it has collapsed and no-one wants to be associated with it.
In the meantime 16 of the GOP reps have retired or said they won't stand in November.
We could see a Dem Senate and House next year , which would be unusual.

For those who may be interested, the Trumpublicans are currently holding their annual back slapping A kissing jamboree, we know the sort of BS being put out at these sort of events.
Among the assorted speakers, the UK is represented by Farage and Truss, we all know the lines uttered by Farage, but Truss was a revelation . Did you know that the UK has its own version of “Deep State” dedicated to undermining the country and government, that our financial institutions, incl FT, stock exchange etc, are actually in the control of left wing militant extremists, never knew that

How very sad to see a former Prime Minister stoop to playing up to that lot.
Utter lack of self-awareness.

In her strange world it was the “Deep State” which led to her rapid removal, nothing to do with her sending our economy into a flat spin and her raging incompetence and stupidity.

Phew, where would I be without some grammatical correction?
Perhaps it's part of my cognitive decline noted by a cluster of experts
