I'm in my 50s, so while no spring chicken, I'm not a pensioner either. Still don't like the aches and pains creeping in though.

On the other hand, I find the older I get, the less I care about mundane nonsense. Not even that fussed about my lockdown hair. Which resembles a thatched roof right now. Do I care? Do I heck.

The good old double edged sword, stay fit and healthy age isn’t a problem, but with the best will in the world physical ability does decline, I’m reasonably fit for my age, but I certainly don’t have the stamina of just a few years ago.

Sure, not as bothered by minor details these days.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Except that my seventies have gone too. But I dont hate being old and still lead as full a life as the physical difficulties will allow.

The great things about being old are:

•being able to say virtually anything you like to people (although women tell me this only works for men.)
• having people show surprise when they learn from others how old you are. (of course never ask people if they can guess!)
