Who's the most impressive opponent you've argued with?
I'm showing off here, but a few years ago ,under different pseudoyms, I went on for pages with speech writers for Trump and Clinton on matters related to neither the coronavirus nor to my home town.
Clinton's wonder of the word obviously is no more, but Dumf's is still submitting his usual incompetent quota of spoutable language.
What about you? Who else of note have you crossed swords with using the exclamative and emoji on message boards?

I've a very good friend who's a diehard socialist and who will just debate about anything and everything! She can be impressive. Annoying but impressive!
One of the most impressive people I've (once) witnessed argue with someone is Alastair Campbell. He was calmer and more measured than I'd expected.
On these message boards, I thought one the most impressive posters was Nomad. I don't recall crossing swords with him myself, but his posts always made a strong statement. I recall him as a fairly regular presence, but then he disappeared.

I assume component = opponent.
People I've upset? Oooh, that's a long list!
A few years ago I was involved in a forum about environmental bacteria (and viruses!)...a bit more high powered than this one. I was involved in a robust discussion with Professor Paul Hunter, Professor of Health Protection at the University of East Anglia. He's recently been advising WHO about the COVID-19 outbreak, although (surprisingly) he's not a member of SAGE. He has been extensively quoted in the press and on the Beeb about COVID-19. If you know about such things (or care) he has an h-index of 68!
I was pointing out that some of the bacterial standards in the environmental field were stricter than those for food (though expressed in a different way), and surely this was wrong. Professor Hunter stated that I was wrong because the route of infection for the environmental bacteria was through the nose and eyes, whereas , for food, the route was through the mouth, and the threshold for infection was much higher. (This is relevant for COVID-19.)
Other cases: a couple of years ago the son of one of Merseyside's most notorious gangsters threatened to kill me, after an altercation in the street. I was not alone, several other bystanders were threatened: one of whom was an off-duty policeman, cue for son to be arrested!
Many years ago I had started some dance classes, and had a regular partner. One day we did some 'exhibitions' in public. My dance partner's millionaire businessman husband (and MEP) was there, and rather pointedly said: 'I see you like dancing with my wife!' [He wasn't wrong]. Anyway, move on a year, she divorced him (because of his infidelity) and started going out with me! It was fun while it lasted!
I could go on (and often do).
