Damien commented...
Southport residents are now able to spend longer outdoors and visit garden centres.
Our success in containing the virus so far has been hard fought and hard won, so it is for that reason that we must proceed with the utmost care in the next phase, and avoid undoing what we have achieved.
People can also now take unlimited exercise outside, sit in the park, drive to other destinations such as our beaches, and meet one person from outside of their household if they are outdoors and maintain social distancing. Garden centres can reopen, as can outdoor sports courts such as golf and tennis courts.
At all times we need people to stay alert and adhere to the social distancing measures we now all know so well.

Success?
And for all those despairing at people flocking to the beach, well Damien says it's ok.

This has been a sh*t show from day 1. How anyone can conceivably consider the handling of this as a success is beyond me, the fiasco with the schools, the lack of ppe, sending infected patients back in to care homes to die. Confusing and mixed messages regarding lockdown rules, U-turns and the cock Up with testing. And where is broken boris these days? Apart from his spell in hospital having infected himself, he's hardly dare show his face. They are literally making things up as they lurch from one disaster to the next.
Edit- And now it’s been revealed Dominic Cummings broke lockdown rules. You really couldn’t make this up. What a bloody shower.

This has been an unprecedented global crisis with all world governments making it up as they go along. Some dealt with the situation better than others but that was due more to luck than design. Many could rely on, and were assisted by, geography and population density - with some countries I would put more stock in Madame Zara's tarot card readings than Government reports on deaths.
It is the easiest thing in the world to snipe and sneer from the sidelines, comfortable in the knowledge that at no point will you be asked to do something yourself.
There are some odious little toads all to eager to jump in front of the camera, any camera, and whine about how awful the effort is - remember - at no time will they be required to actually do something about the issues they feel duty bound to whinge about.

He is probably just using a Tory boilerplate message.
He hasn't got the imagination to create his own.

.........and of course Cummins is the only politico to break the lock down rules. The Tartan Whinger from the Westminster SNP was on Breakfast this morning demanding inquiries into this and that!
After all, it's not like there's owt else to be getting on with!
