Police have blocked off access to Ainsdale Beach forcing hundreds of people to park on the nearby housing estates. No traffic is being allowed past the roundabout near Pontins.
The car parks at Formby and the National Trust have also been closed.

Dunhelm should do quite well out of this - imagine all the damaged curtains that'll need to be replaced after some Olympic standard twitchin'.

Denying access to the beach road just pushes the parking problem further into Ainsdale.

Is it because of a high tide or are they just being awkward or are the police thinking well you are all here pretending to get some exercise, here’s a bit of exercise for you a walk to the beach.
I am glad that people are getting out and about and sending their kids back to a Petrie dish that are schools .. even though we are in the middle of a pandemic .

But it moves it away from the Coast Road so that there is traffic flow, rather than everything grinding to a halt.

Fine.....Drivers that are deliberately blocking the carriageways.
Fine.....Drivers that are parking on the pavements.
Fine.....Beachgoers in large groups on the beach.
Fine.....Anyone who is NOT 2 metres away from someone else.
Fine.....Anybody seen deliberately dropping litter on the shore, and surrounding areas.
Fine ....Anyone who is seen using a BBQ on the beach.
People having garden parties at their own house, with family members, why not just fine anyone who is breathing in oxygen.............Bloody ridiculous what people are getting fines for, after being in lockdown for more than 12 weeks..But as long as they ARE seen to be behaving correctly, then there should'nt be a problem,it is those that do as they please, and make life difficult for everyone else were the problems lie..

Lock down for 2 weeks - amateur!
You can go out for exercise, you can go shopping.
For those of us shielding it is a minimum of 12 weeks confined to the house.
Please obey the rules or we'll be under house arrest until Christmas.

My mistake when posting,as I omitted the number 1 before posting,as I HAVE been on lockdown myself for over 10 weeks now,due to my wife having had recent chemotherapy, and I am a Private Hire driver, and CANNOT risk working,as her immune system is very low having had treatment for cancer....
Edited my previous comment...
