Conservatives Cummings Action Call
A Southport Councillor is making an appeal to local Conservative voters to help restore 'one nation' in Britain in response to COVID-19. Hundreds of thousands of UK residents have already written to their MPs complaining about the behaviour and perceived subsequent dishonesty off the Prime Minister's 'Special Advisor'.
Councillor Tony Dawson was the only non-Conservative ever elected in Dukes Ward of Southport when he was voted onto the Council in 2012 and was re-elected with a much bigger majority in 2016. Because he has underlying chest and circulation issues, Cllr Dawson has been self-isolating from his family in Manchester for over three months. He has constantly pushed for people to stick by the 'lockdown' rules despite the bad examples we see on the media, as well as personally providing support for vulnerable relatives and neighbours.
Tony Dawson says:
"Not one person I have met yet has told me they believe a single word of Dominic Cummings' Barnard Castle 'eye test' eyewash. He would have been more plausible if he had told the world that his family day trip out, on his wife's birthday, was to seek out the birth place of Peppa Pig."
"There is no test which can ever cover this man's tracks."
"The damage Mr Cummings has done to the nation's solidarity and confidence in the public health messaging at this crisis time has been catastrophic. And loyalty to him so far has caused Boris Johnson to totally abandon 'The Science' in decision-making which is really scary and dangerous."
"Although Liberal and Labour voters will doubtless vent their spleens on this 'one law for the rich. . . ." demonstration, it is unlikely they will affect the Conservative MPs massively. But it is clear that dozens of Conservative MPs like Oliver Hoare find Dominic Cummings behaviour so gut-wrenchingly dishonest that they cannot stomach it - and I am sure this extends to thousands of Conservative voters too."
"So, I urge Southport's Tory supporters, for all of our sakes, please write to let Damien Moore MP know that YOU personally want ONE set of rules for ONE nation - which requires Mr Cummings to be sent 'on his bike' - and all who behave similarly, for whatever reason and whatever their politics to be sent on their bikes with him."
With luck, Conservative voters will press Conservative MPs to persuade Boris Johnson to do the right thing. It is not as though Mr Cummings himself rates Conservative MPs - or the NHS - or the British people too highly:
There’s no amount of Cherry Brandy that the people of southport could drink to actually believe that this isn’t another political capital attempt by Cllr Dawson, who no doubt is trying to get re-elected.
Rather than have some political smear (although I do agree Cummings and Johnson are wrong) maybe the people of Southport should turn their views to the local lib dems who spread divisive politics to try stay relevant with their frequent “community contributions”. Over the years the prevalent nastiness and smears that only isolate Southport they have not been nipped in the bud by the Lib Dem’s makes me think they are ok with them. The only time a Lib Dem was suspended when they said they could not vote for their candidate which in effect told the people of Southport to vote either labour or Tory.
Finally, there’s absolutely no evidence Cllr Dawson is capable of working cross party unless he can say it was a Lib Dem thing and maybe Boris is dealing with it the same way John Pugh did in a situation with one of his employees when others “called for” the sack:
Southport needs to unseat some of these publicity hungry councillors who’ve been around long enough to be part of the problem rather than the solution. Our local councillors should focus on local issues not national politics as it’s not like the local houses are in order.

I have no time for Lib Dems after their anti democracy stance at the last election BUT there is no doubt that Barmy Boris is becoming a doppelganger of his mate with the shredded wheat wig from over the Atlantic. I am awaiting the suggestion to drink Dettol.
Was Cummings childcare journey a paragon of covid isolating, nope, was it near nope, but the reality is most parents would have driven to the moon to get the best place they thought for their child.
The other rather pertinent point is Dominic love him or loathe him is an essential worker helping to run the country for us, Tony is probably knitting socks and is a very unessential "worker"

Essential only to Johnson, obviously the puppet doesn’t function without someone pulling the strings, Cummings is a hired political hand, not by any stretch a democratically elected member of government.

Special advisers are essential to the workings of government and there are many of them, they are appointed as temporary civil servants,
There is a process for entering government: special advisers have to abide by a code of conduct, sign a contract and declare any conflicts of interests or any personal history that could detrimentally affect his or her ability to do the job. He or she will have to pass security clearance depending on what level of access the job requires.
