People who arrived at Ainsdale Beach entrance early this morning and parked up on the double yellow lines will be in for a shock when they get back to their vehicles as they have all been ticketed.
Police will close the road later but those who thought they beat the rush will have an expensive day out.

Is all the signage in Place?
Are the yellow lines complete and clear?
If not the tickets can be challenged and cancelled.

Yes and yes
And if you park on the pavement next to yellow lines that is an offence too.

I was on my pushbike a few mornings ago at the same place, and I asked the same warden that same question, "wont people be able to challenge the ticket if the lines are obscured by sand or not complete?" he said, "well I can see the lines!"

Everybody's shocked at virtually everything nowadays.
Or outraged, or disgusted.

Good.
It would be better if they towed the vehicles away to free up more spaces for more lazy people to park illegally.
Rinse and repeat.

Yes, because we all know how law abiding taxi drivers are when it comes to parking.

…….most if not all (at the time I was there) cars parked on the grass down Shore Rd, and cars parked directly on corners were ticketed

What a pity they weren't out in Southport on the Marine Parade to sort out the fiasco there.

Families have travelled into the seaside resort of Southport from Cheshire, Manchester and Liverpool, etc., With Ainsdale closed for parking and none of the Southport car parks open - where are people supposed to park?
There has been ample parking allocated at Crosby - so why not allow parking at Ainsdale and Southport, the far more popular resorts? Many of those drivers had already had a hard time with the two hour tail back at Switch Island.
Yes, I was put out with the pathway being blocked by vehicles, I still got by - it was understandable under the circumstances, and it was fantastic to see so many people out enjoying themselves.

They should stay at home and wander round their own areas. Muppets r us. We don’t want visitors whilst this virus is around. It’s not gone, it will be back and if you believe otherwise your as daft as them. STAY AWAY we don’t want you yet.

At home, The same place I park in a pandemic. LAST place I'd go to is a beach. Especially an extremely busy one. Have people got no self preservation instinct?

Well said hja, and it’s because of these idiots that we’ll start seeing an increase in infections, in turn this will see the R value rise and before you know it, we’ll be back in lockdown again. It’s common sense. Even the government scientists are showing obvious anxiety at the lifting of some restrictions.
