If you mean the technical aspects of it, e.g. speed etc., have a look at reviews of Plusnet, because that's who supplies 'John Lewis broadband', which is just a marketing name.
Or look at reviews of BT, because they own Plusnet

I agree, Plusnet is one of the best, the EE network is backed up by the mighty BT!

Plusnet is good for customer service but like all providers once the cut price new customer deal ends the prices are quite high.
It seems that you are forced to change suppliers regularly to get the best deals.
The regulators are trying to stop insurance companies overcharging loyal customers, perhaps broadband will be next.

As with the energy companies, in my view it's all a con, preying on people who forget to regularly check for better deals. Or elderly people with no internet who still think they're dealing with 'the Gas Board'.
They're all selling basically the same thing, obtained from the same supplier. It's all about marketing.

Yes, exactly right. Talk talk want increase when my contract ends in November simply for continuing to provide the same service!

And of course insurance companies who increase the premium even when you haven't made a claim.

As far I'm aware there are only 2 actual broadband providers, Virgin Media and BT (Openreach). All the companies you see touting for business simply use the cables, lines of BT so it makes no difference who you go with in terms of speed it will depend on the service that BT can provide.
I was with Virgin Media for countless years as I wanted the higher speed 100mb+ but earlier this year they hiked their prices to a level I wasn't prepared to pay, I switched to TalkTalk and pay more or less half than VM even with their loyalty discount and I can honestly say I've not noticed any difference at all.

What is wrong with TalkTalk?
Don't forget if you switch your broadband it will be over the same infrastructure as TalkTalk.

That sounds like your Microfilter is on its way out, change it, they don't last for ever!
TalkTalk stay well away from them!
