Many people will have noticed the "Keep Social Distancing" banners that are attached to railings around Southport. The majority of these banners have had a small section cut out of the on the bottom left.
The section that has been cut out is H M Government and the European Union Flag logos.
The banner on the Pier remains intact.
Is the damage down to vandals or the Council?
Sefton Council have been approached for a comment.

So someone was a tad previous in cutting the EU badging from the posters. If it was vandals - they were very neat ones!
The UK is paying into the EU as part of the 'divorce' bill. The UK receives payments for projects arranged prior to the UK leaving as of 31st January this year.
The social distancing came in after the 31st of January, so I'd guess the EU was not responsible for the funding, which could be why the badging has been removed.
