EHRC report into antisemitism
The EHRC report into antisemitism in the Labour party under Corbyn's watch was pretty damning.
Even worse was Corbyn's comments today in the light of it. He condemned antisemitism, then a few lines later denied that it was a big problem in the party, then blamed it on the media.
Which is exactly what the report found.
Corbyn has now been suspended and had the whip withdrawn.
Good. At best his comments were tone deaf. At worse the very antisemitism he struck out at.
If, as the report says, unlawful actions were taken, then shouldn't the perpetrators face a court?

Did Blair face court for the thousands of civilians who died?? The EHRC is a Conservative agency.

I doubt that when it comes to anti-Semitism, history will judge "Corby" as being simply "tone-deaf" or will see him as ever being someone who "struck out" at anti-Semitism.

I missed the 'n' out. Typo.
I'm referring to his post today. He started out striking out against antisemitism, then a few lines later excused it by blaming everyone else.

I thought Ken Livingstone and Pam Bromley were mentioned?

I haven't read the whole report, just read parts that have been reported.
If they've been found to be antisemitic, they should face a court.
Hate crimes are hate crimes, regardless of who perpetrates them.

And now his smarmy supporter seeks to distance himself, Starmer should step down.
Labour is trying to dump this at Corbyns door as if it was a one-man problem.

Starmer and all the others in the shadow cabinet and Labour organisation are complicit to a greater or lesser degree . Wasn't there a report by Chackrabati (Apologies for spelling) saying that all was well in the Labour party? Basically a whitewash, but well rewarded by a seat in the Lords.
But Corbyn was the leader and the buck stops there.

You can read some of his supporters' thoughts here:
Is antisemitism a major problem in the UK?

Corbyn was foolish rather than evil and has been foolish today.
He relied on sections of the party to support his leadership where anti-semitism is common and turned a blind eye.
I am looking forward to the report on Islamophobia in the Tory party. Seems to be in the same drawer as the report on Patel.

The opening statement from her report..
"The Labour Party is not overrun by antisemitism, Islamophobia or other forms of racism."

I'd go along with that. But his comments today were terrible. I don't think the EHRC would have condemned anyone without good reason, so Corbyn saying he doesn't accept it alone was enough to get him suspended.
Whether he is antisemitic or not is beside the point, I've always said he should have stamped it out before it became a problem. As you say, he's listened to the Corbynistas of Momentum rather than the victims. Someone posted on another thread all the times he's stood up for the Jewish community, but as leader and allowing this poison to continue makes him ultimately responsible.
It would have been a good time to apologise, not take issue with the EHRC.

Expect the downplaying and excuse-building narrative to gradually build and the whataboutery regards the Tories to crank into action.

Whether or not the previous leader of the Labour Party is a racist is beside the point?
What an incredible statement.
