GP surgery staff question

Are there any doctors or medical staff who could satisfy my current curiousity?

My local doctors surgery has 13 salaried Doctors.
Yet, the surgery is currently being manned by one single visiting GP.

Where are all the Doctors?
Are they furloughed?
Are they working elsewhere in other roles?
They don't seem to be doing online or phone consultations either...that is being dealt with by the poor

It is a disgrace the NHS putting out information with the adage " if in doubt contact your GP" the very people who are our first point of call with health worries are currently taking part in the World Hide & Seek Championships.

What respect I had for GP's has like them disappeared.

It would be interesting to see some answers rather than opinion.

We have experienced the ghost ship surgery after being put through some understandable hurdles to keep out infection.

There may be a perfectly reasonable answer.

How did they get 13 names on the headed note paper?

Gp do not visit they Locum.

Contact the Practice Manager -I am just as curious to the mystery of the disappearing Gp's.

had a cancer op in Feb ..since I come out of hospital everything has been a complete joke . its not everyday you loose an organ and wonder if you are now okay , and then hear nothing off anyone , no support staff , not a phone call ... I did start to wonder wonder about the NHS staffing levels

Days later I was struggling to get a booking to have my staples removed on time , no one would take the job on from Southport to Netherton clinics , so I handed the task back to the surgery along with a complaint , lo and behold the local nurse got in touch who then said it was a 2 day job due to the number of staples !! , I grinned and bared it and had it done in one go . yes it did sting . A follow up redressing of the wounds was done .

Then my blood tests to monitor me , despite a letter from the hospital the receptionist argued over giving me an appt because she could not find the letter on her system , the letter turned up after a search .
Amazing how the words "Cancer op" and "follow up tests" also eluded her ! , I was not asking for a blood test for the fun of it ..
I went throu the covid bloods taking routine and then my scan appts did not turn up as expected ... because the blood results had not turned up at the hospital to trigger the next test stage ! , despite a reminder to the surgery receptionist to post them I still waited , follow up blood tests are also not done despite a discussion with the Dr ... surly this is a routine task and should not be open to mistakes like this as its just an entry on the computor system to make a booking .

Last weeks appt in the hospital with the consultant , I get to see the blood test result is missing from the system , last one was in Feb when the op took place , I now have an emergency scan booked , and more bloods were taken . It will be interesting to see the results

No one seems to have ownership of a persons case for following up on the welfare of the patient , for all they knew I could of gone home and dropped dead on the floor , I have had to chase every single bit of care to make sure it was done .

Surely to get some answers it would need a doctor to answer the questions, but they have ensconced themselves in some unknown hideaway that only they know of.
The Butcher The Baker and The Candlestick Maker are doing the testing for Covid all "NON URGENT" surgery has been cancelled, I think someone who is in excruciating pain from a joint that needs replacing may argue on the urgency. Some drug fuelled non covid believer teeny bopper driver can smash hi/her car up and get put back together but not a long term Osteo Arthritis sufferer.

It is akin to the Russians spreading through Europe and all the top brass from the Army Navy & Air Force clearing off and leaving the troops to sort it them selves.

Me too cancer op last year supposed 12 month examination but not heard a dickie bird.

I asked to speak with the practice manager last week.
Was told they were away at the moment...
I feel sorry for the GP on duty...seems like a lot of work for one person.
No wonder the service is rudimentary.

Yes that's terrible at such a worrying time.

It's so easy to blame the "guvvernment" yet how is any of this anybody's fault other than the people directly responsible.

SOME staff are working themselves into the ground others are not and using the pandemic the same way as some other public sector workers are including SOME teachers.

Throwing more money without reform at these people is a waste.
