Roads Policing Unit Tweeted...
At least 40 drivers will be receiving a notice of intended prosecution after ignoring red 'X's being displayed on the #M57 this afternoon. Lanes aren't closed without reason, and in this case it was to protect a broken down vehicle #PayAttention@nwmwaypolice

It is so frustrating and annoying that when a lane is being shown as closed ahead and you move across to drive in the open lanes, there are numerous drivers who simply ignore the warnings and overtake everyone else queueing only to force themselves into the traffic flow at the last possible moment. It smacks of pig ignorance and a 'I'm all right jack' outlook, let alone dangerous driving, and I hope the police / traffic authorities prosecute everyone they can catch doing this.

All drivers should wholeheartedly agree with this post, but there are too many that pretend to be innocently unaware of why other drivers are queued up, or think they are too important to queue with the rest of us.

Quite correct, and fortunately in the eyes of the law, ignorance is no defence.
