It's nothing to do with her race or her sex. It's entirely to do with the things she says and does. And there's plenty in the public domain that indicates she's unfit for the office she holds.

The Home Secretary has also become – justifiably in many
instances – frustrated by the Home Office leadership’s lack of responsiveness and
the lack of support she felt in DfID three years ago. The evidence is that this has
manifested itself in forceful expression, including some occasions of shouting
and swearing. This may not be done intentionally to cause upset, but that has been
the effect on some individuals. ....................
“My advice is that the Home Secretary has not consistently met the high standards
required by the Ministerial Code of treating her civil servants with consideration
and respect. Her approach on occasions has amounted to behaviour that can be
described as bullying in terms of the impact felt by individuals.

Bullying, honestly - you couldn't cough loudly in some Public Sector offices without stressing some poor soul to the point of a month off sick.
Why silly? Johnson makes the final decision, against the evidence, in your view then everyone should just accept that.

Then of course anyone who doesn't immediately fall over at Johnson's command are sycophants, would suggest some Tory lovers take a good look at themselves, no matter what decisions are taken, it is A OK if Johnson decrees it and you apply the title of sycophants to those who don't agree.

She does no MPs, female in particular any favours by resorting to screeching and swearing, in fact she plays into the hands of those who attempt to denigrate woman in positions of authority, this is exactly what male chauvinists feed on and use to diminish women.

The defence of her is almost as bad:

    Iain Duncan Smith MP
    @MPIainDS
There are significant balancing requirements to make note of here, which were that senior civil servants did not do their jobs @pritipatel
didn't just erupt, there were problems that were forcing her to the point where she simply couldn't get the job done.

She deserved to be shouted & sworn at?

Her behaviour made her partner hit her?

She shouldn't dress like that, that's why she was raped?

Patel is a middle aged woman in a highly responsible job, not a 3 year old who can't control a tantrum. Bullying necessary to achieve results? She didn't need to 'erupt', as Duncan Smith said. She 'erupted' through a complete lack of self-control.

    In three different departments.

    This is serial behaviour.

    Indefensible.

Thank goodness our resident political snowflakes are nowhere near positions of significance in society.

The stark reality that in the real world they remain so distant from that people are often "not very nice" even heaven forfend women must come as a shock to them.

Dealing with the Sir Humphreys on a daily basis who take obfuscation to extreme levels as identified in the report does occasionally push people to get annoyed with them.

I would worry that anyone who didn't wasn't giving their best.

Bullying to many of the civil servants most of us come into contact is asking them to do something.

You're quite happy making these allegations, how about a bit of actual evidence, or is this simply a scatter gun approach, sling enough mud at the wall and hope some will stick.

Civil servants in the main are (surprising though it may seem to some) perfectly normal human beings, doing their job to the best of their ability, bear in mind that many of them are bound to work and abide by whatever rules are put out by ministers in charge, they don't have the freedom to make decisions beyond their particular remit.

Yes many do have better work conditions than some private sector workers, but surely that is down to some employers and the stifling of the unions, which permits some employers to treat staff with disdain.

Teeming with groundless accusations against the Civil Service.
Patel has fórm for being nasty and even her own husband has alluded to this.
If you are looking for dysfunctionality, then look no further than Johnson and his inner circle.
Don't go to bed angry. Stay up and plot your revenge.

No problem whatsoever in providing evidence as always, the question is will it elicit an apology from you ?

The Civil Service itself needs to reflect on its role during this period.

The Home Office was not as flexible as it could have been in responding to the home secretary's requests and direction. She has - legitimately - not always felt supported by the department.

    I wrote;

In addition, no feedback was given to the home secretary of the impact of her behaviour, which meant she was unaware of issues that she could otherwise have addressed.

I certainly don't know how you arrive at groundless allegations between the pair of you.

    Some of you will have enfant seizures at the very mention of his name but John Redwood yes that John Redwood lists a few of the endemic problems with the civil service;

    https://www.conservativehome.com/pla...licy-unit.html

Or maybe a bit closer to home Tony Blair ?

Former prime minister Tony Blair has criticised the UK civil service, saying there is a “genuine problem with the bureaucracy” of the country. He has said UK civil servants are “superb” at coping in a crisis, but failed to implement major reform during his time in office.

Nope, then how about Gordon Brown for those Labour fans with selectively short memories

Civil service chief warned Gordon Brown over abusive treatment of staff

Sir Gus O'Donnell, the cabinet secretary, became so alarmed by the prime minister's behaviour that he launched his own investigations when he received reports of Brown's bullying of staff. O'Donnell then gave the prime minister a stern "pep talk" and ordered him to change his behaviour. "This is no way to get things done," he told Brown.

Cuddly old Gordon surely not ?

When briefed that November about the loss of confidential data discs, containing the personal details of more than 20 million people, he leapt across the room and grabbed Gavin Kelly, his deputy chief of staff, by the lapels of his jacket. Brown snarled into Kelly's face: "They're out to get me!"

O'Donnell was so disturbed by the effect on those in Downing Street that he took it upon himself to try "to calm down frightened duty clerks, badly treated phone operators and other bruised staff by telling them, 'Don't take it personally'".

During one rage, while in his official car, Brown clenched his fist in fury after being told some unwelcome news and then thumped the back of the passenger seat with such force that a protection officer sitting in the front flinched with shock. The aide sitting next to Brown, who had just told him the information that provoked the outburst, cowered because he feared "that the prime minister was about to hit him in the face".

Rawnsley writes that "the cream upholstery of the seat-back in front of Brown was flecked with black marks. When having a meltdown the prime minister would habitually stab it with his black marker pen.

Don't remember Gordon trying to defend any of this from the right wing rag the Guardian.

You hypocrites have found an Asian Conservative woman to be the subject of your faux outrage.

If it smells like it, looks like it and sounds like it the much-abused R word seems to be apposite.

No doubt whatsoever that there will be plenty of occasions of friction between politicians and civil servants, however I was posting in response to your blanket denigration of civil servants, you basically trying to blacken civil servants in comparison to anyone.

    Deflection tactics again.

PS also notable that senior civil servants who saw fit to warn Labour politicians as to their behaviour were not thrown nor manoeuvred out the door, race, colour nor gender don’t even enter into this.

Wrong again and no deflection whatsoever,

I merely mirrored with evidence that many have come up against the recalcitrant civil servant and I deliberately quoted you from across the political spectrum.

I repeat quite openly how this smacks of barely disguised misogynism and racism.

The Home Secretary was told how some of her snowflake staff were upset and she acted upon it, if she hadn't then fine warn her and ultimately sack her.

The evidence is she did act.

Bullying is a comparatively modern complaint against bosses, political or otherwise; not that it is new, rather it would have been suffered in silence. That is NOT to say bullying is acceptable, only that times change.

Suggestions in one or two Sunday papers that Priti Patel's competence is questionable, along with a prediction that she will be shuffled to the position of Conservative Party Chair are interesting. It is said she is popular among 'rank and file' party members.

    Matt Hancock & Priti Patel

This current cabinet will likely be rated the least competent in living memory, by and by — though not by any means the least corrupt!

The story doing the rounds is that Priti Patel is to be moved to another position, why? wait for it————- there is apparently dissatisfaction with her competence and effectiveness in her present role.

Suppose that will now be Labour, civil servants, or the man in moon doing this

She probably is. Bullies never punch sideways or upwards.

    They only ever punch down.
