There is no such thing as THE flu vaccine. There are flu vaccineS and they are used depending on which variety of flu is prevalent.
If your customer reacted badly to the vaccine, this suggests she had no immunity to that circulating type of flu. In other words, she should count herself extremely fortunate that she received the jab. Had she not, she would have been very poorly if she had caught that variant of influenza.

Whether or not that is so, I can tell you she sounded pretty p****d off about it!

There is a lot of general ignorance about vaccines, flu vaccines cannot cause flu illness. Flu vaccines given with a needle ( flu shots) are made with either inactivated (killed) viruses, or with only a single protein from the flu virus.

The only way we were ever going to achieve herd immunity was through mass immunisation.

It's not my field of expertise, so can neither agree or disagree with the above. Personally, I never have the flu jab - or any other 'jab' if I can avoid it. Don't take antibiotics either tbh. But no system is truly 100% infallible, so maybe she copped for a bad batch, where the virus hadn't been fully inactivated?

Of course no chance that she had already contracted the virus prior to the injection, plus of course the numbers who complain of having flu, when in fact they’re have had no more than a cold.
Flu and a cold may have similarities, but the effects are very different.

Could be so.
I might be wrong, but I was under the impression the flu jab gave the recipient a 'weakened' form of flu, Which then stimulated the hosts antibody production, resulting in protection against the full-strength virus.....

Don't know your age, but would assume you had the usual childhood vaccinations as part of the immunisation programme, a programme that had seen the virtual elimination of so many serious and indeed deadly diseases, incidentally under normal circumstances you would not have been due or eligible for any more vaccinations as yet, so your not having any "jabs" is irrelevant anyway.
Now we are afflicted by all those "who know better and refuse vaccination" the result being that diseases which we thought were things of the past are now returning.

last two jabsi had were tb andsmallpoxbooster both resultedinanphlytic shock was very ill from the pox jab. my understanding of these now supposed effects are they only ease the symptoms but dont prevent you catching or pasing it on,should bea personel choice based on informed decision.the data is produced by its manufacturers for the approvalcommision to decide on not independant bodys.that raises seriuos questions in itself.take it if you want or not .but dont make it a hate crime if people wish to make their own choice.given world events no government or body of science can be trusted with our best intrests in mind.but ultimatly its a choice for self not a demand on others.

Surely that's because allowing 60% of the population to contract Covid was unpalatable to the majority of people? Millions of people would have died.
In this day and age herd immunity has only ever been achieved by vaccination. I think that most of us have always supported herd immunity via the vaccine route.

Yes, had all the usual childhood vac's. Got more (mandatory) jabs during time working in tropics, i.e. for yellow fever, cholera, etc. Had my fill of jabs during that time tbh, never liked the jab experience. Once back in UK, I always assumed (till now) that would have been an end to them!

Due to the history of antibiotics being doled out like candy for conditions that wouldn't be cured by them, I can understand people's reluctance to take them. However, there are times when they are necessary and could save your life. Trust your doctor to make the call, you're not qualified.
Why do you try to avoid jabs? This year I would have expected most people to have a flu shot. I know the efficacy rate is often low, but if by chance you get the flu, at least you won't automatically be worried that it's Covid
Your client is batcrap crazy!
