There will be more drivers in the road next month as half of them get their licenses out of a Christmas cracker.

A licence awarded 35 years ago is no reflection of your current competence.

But 35 years accident free does show and prove my competence as a driver or can you not understand that ?

Threatening other road users with violence, and then repeating that threat further on in the thread would suggest to me that you have anger issues, and I’d agree with Salus.populi, you should consider how much of a liability you are on the road. You might end up directing your obvious anger at the wrong person and end up in hospital yourself. You have the wrong mindset to be behind the wheel.

Sounds like a complete idiot...perhaps he figures a green bike and skinsuit gives him priority at lights - duh!

…idiot motorists
…two thoughtless 'idiots' behind the wheels of motor vehicles in the space of 20 minutes in Southport today!
Bad behaviour of motorists is too commonplace to warrant a mention, it seems.

I saw a couple myself too, sadly for them driving defective newer cars, neither of them had working indicators !

It does to a point. Who knows how many rules you break without consequence though?
For balance, during your journey when you witnessed this idiot cyclist how many transgressions of the Highway Code did you witness from drivers? Or were you not counting those due to your obsession with cyclists?
I've just been out for half an hour on my bike and seen at least 9 drivers breaking the rules and 5 pedestrians crossing the road without looking. I don't feel the need to run them into a wall though.

Did they A) cut across your right of way forcing you to brake or B) ride slowly in the middle of the road forcing other cars to drive t a snails pace through a fairly major junction or C) stick two fingers up at you when they were clearly in the wrong ?
Whilst i agree no one is perfect, there is a difference to a slight indiscretion to being a total and complete and utter moron and danger to other road users like said cyclist was.

Not sure why the any transgression has to be exactly the same as the ones you witnessed to be considered relevant by you.

Sadly, a not infrequent occurrence when I'm on the bike. Not all drivers who shoot out onto roundabouts or emerge at junctions 'look twice' for bikes, as they should.....I negotiate roundabouts with great care and hands over brakes, also allow extra clearance passing side roads if a vehicle is about to come out.

While there are bad motorists and bad cyclists, from the point of view of what I would class a considerate and safe motorist, not without my faults, it does appear to be those whose form of propulsion is human and of the two wheeled variety that are guilty of far more violations putting themselves in danger.

While there are many law-abiding cyclists on here (PNP and others) it's the other wunch of bankers that know they can do what they like when they like and get away with it.
What is needed is making ANY vehicles who use the road traceable, which is best enacted by having a registration plate. Dashcam footage can then be uploaded, considered and a fine send through the post.
Road users, in any form of transport, should be traceable and be accountable. Also, make it mandatory to use a cycle path when one is available and an offence to not use it.

How many cars did you see weaving in and out of pedestrians on the Lord St pavements, did you see any car drivers fed up with waiting at traffic lights go through on red or drive on to the pavement and carry on riding on the pavement having crossed the red lights.
