Nothing to do With me
This morning I took receipt of a parcel sent from Japan. This parcel was sent surface mail and took eighteen days in transit, according to the manufacturer's email saying the item was in the post.
The item was packed in a cardboard box which when I receive it, was sopping wet and the cardboard had become split and damaged. It had been place in a transparent plastic sleeve with a disclaimer notice from Royal Mail stating that since the parcel was damaged when they received it from abroad, they could not be held liable for any claim.
Now - surface mail is usually shipped across to the UK in containers. Did the container fall overboard so that all the parcels got wet? Or was the parcel transported by train in an open cattle truck, perhaps? It must have been really soaked, and stayed that way during the eighteen days it took to get here. Because it obviously was not caused by the huge number of parcels Royal Mail received, of which there are several reports of parcels having to be stacked outside as there was insufficient room in the warehouses. Mmmh! A mystery.

Nightmare! I sent a Christmas card to a very good friend of mine in St Petersburg, I enclosed a £20 note inside the card so she could buy herself a small gift. Needless to say she received the card but the £20 note had been removed, probably by Russian customs officers. My fault entirely, I should have read the rules, although you might have thought, as it was Christmas they would have been a bit more sympathetic.

Well - To be quite honest, I was going to ask if it had been sent from Greece?
