They're making it up as they go along!
Two new vaccines have been released, both require 2 doses 21 days apart now this Government has decided without any Scientific Data to back them up to stretch the gap to 90 days, Pfizer say that no testing has been done on longer gaps so the Government plan is without merit. Anybody having the doses 90 days apart could be leaving themselves vulnerable to having little or no protection, I seem to remember when the vaccine was released it only gave 60 % protection on the first dose and upto 90% after the booster dose was administered.

Not following the science, they are taking a punt hoping that 60% of 20m is more effective than 90 % of 10m. Pfizer say they have not tested anything apart from a 21 day interval.

I'm with you, I'll go with Pfizer's recommended dosage. That's the dosage the trial results were based on.
AstraZeneka has been all over the place with its efficacy rates from day one.

Hardly surprising. There seems to be a pattern of not following the science with this government’s handling of the pandemic.

I'm only commenting on your headline -- 'They're making it up...'
This has always been the case in medicine. Why the surprise? And pragmatism has always ruled in all fields of endeavour.

Both of these vaccines were developed around March. Just a couple of months after the outbreak struck the UK on January 29th. According to AstraZeneka's media publications they carried out their first trials in April 23rd, of their vaccine and placebos. They registered an efficacy of 70.4%, after two doses but obtained a level of 90% protection after 1.5 doses. According to the EU's acceptance level, the efficacy needed to be over 50%.
The Pfizer vaccine, according to their web site, also carried out tests in April, with the vaccine and placebos and received an efficacy of 95% after two shots.
The difference between Pfizer and AstraZeneka is the price. Pfizer did not claim that they would maintain low prices on a non-profit basis and consequently Pfizers costs are far more than AstraZeneka's. The UK Government states that people will not be given a choice between the two vaccines. The Pfizer vaccine is based on RNA, while the AstraZeneka is based on a spike found in the common cold. On the 14th August 2020, the EU agreed to accept AstraZenekas vaccine.
Pfizer is an American/German vaccine while AstraZeneka is a UK/Swiss vaccine. Both have been funded by the Bill Gates Foundation. It is believed that each country is working on their own domestic vaccines.
Now although these vaccines were developed in April of this year, it has been claimed by the WHO and Lancet that the virus was not isolated until June 2020. Several involved Universities and companies have been contacted under The Freedom of Information Act, requesting details on how and when the virus had been isolated. None have received a satisfactory response.
Personally, I would have thought the virus needed to be isolated before any vaccine was developed in order to know how to destroy it - but there you go. On the 11th January, before the outbreak hit the UK - scientists had identified a genome sequence of the C19 virus (that is not isolating it) but this sequence matched a genome found in 2014.

Previously, new medications to the market have taken 10 years to develop and produce safely - but those goal posts have now been removed for specific reasons.

Everyone is making it up as they go along. Hence why we have over 50,000 cases a day at the moment and getting on towards 1,000 deaths. Expect these number to go up over the next couple of weeks at least.
Oh yeah...
Happy new year.
Don't expect it to be better, Just hope people are more prepared. Support who you can. look after those you can and keep away from those that won't.
I've come to the conclusion that there are far to many that won't follow simple instruction, It's just going to have to burn out and see who's on the other end.
People I know now looking for sympathy, when I know that have done nothing to protect themselves or other. Well you reap what you sow. Get on with it, Hopefully see the ones I love on the other side of the madness.

Many of them financial. But what ever. I'm sure you won't be bothering having the vaccine anyway. Got to be 100% against your principles.

The number of cases you see quoted are due to the tests which are being carried out. Since when have you ever known anyone without any symptoms at all, go and get tested for an infection?
The tests that are being carried out test for antibodies only. Most people have some form of antibodies in their system. So there are a huge number of people showing positive falsely. Every test carried out is carried out differently depending on which county you live in. The more false positives there are, the more cases they are declaring. The more cases they are declaring, the more lockdowns there are, and so it goes on.
"The genetic sequences used in PCRs to detect suspected SARS-CoV-2 and to diagnosecases of illness and death attributed to Covid-19 are present in dozens of sequences of thehuman genome itself and in those of about a hundred microbes. And that includes theinitiators or primers, the most extensive fragments taken at random from their supposed"genome" and even the so-called "target genes" allegedly specific to the "newcoronavirus". The test is worthless and all "positive" results obtained so far should bescientifically invalidated and communicated to those affected; and if they are deceased, totheir relatives. Stephen Bustin, one of the world's leading experts on PCR, in fact says thatunder certain conditions anyone can test positive!"

Like I said, people just don't take care. 964 paid the price yesterday and 981 the day before, and there will be a lot more over the coming weeks.
You just keep that head in the sand, Might be the only thing that saves you.

Of course. The specific purpose is 'Needs must...'. Most of those 10 years have not been used up by 'development' of the vaccine, but by approvals sitting on desks without urgency.
And why was there any urgency when, until this infection, those in need were just poor people in Africa?
When the rich start to die, the approvals get signed. It really is this simple, Said.
