Whilst mistakes have undoubtedly been made during this unprecedented situation, things have happened in a reasonably well managed manner.
Indicative of this is how those with an anti government agenda are forced to drill down into the minutiae of every aspect to find fuel for their carping, sniping and - let's be frank here - deliberate undermining of public confidence for political gain.
They must be running out of 'Short Notice' patients by now as they need to be local and available and the 'first in the queue' groups are being done rapidly.
We live 2 doors from a house which accommodates some autistic people. We are quite friendly with some of the staff.
On Friday afternoon one of them called around to say they were vaccinating and had some spare. If we could go then, we could have it.
So we did. I am priority 4 and my wife priority 7. We need to work out now how we don't miss the second shots ( given how short notice it was).
Its great to hear some positive news on the vaccine rollout.
The incessant nit-picking from the sofa scientists and parts of the media is being exposed as being bound by politics.
Will there be someone in outer wherever who gets missed yes, or have to travel further than they would like yes.
The reality is you are being offered free of charge a life-saving vaccine by great people to save you from a virus that originated in China and possibly from a research laboratory.
It was clearly in the country before we were told of the risk and the W.H.O has seriously misled us.
They are now in their friends China far too late, to look for a needle in a haystack after the haystack has been moved.

Don't you think that people are more concerned with the horrendous death rate, or the fact that we've handled this situation worse than any third world country, than political gain?
The minutiae, as you put it, of every aspect of the handling or mishandling of this pandemic is a matter of concern. Not just to opposition parties, whose job it actually is to 'drill down', or scrutinise the government, whoever that might be. But as they are public servants, it should concern every last one of us.
Mistakes are one thing, particularly in unprecedented circumstances. Repeated mistakes, of which there have been many over the past 12 months, are not so easy to forgive.
Nor is the what is tantamount to theft of public money when so many people receive little or no support, particularly the self employed and small business owners.
Before anyone declares they are 'doing their best', when their 'best' isn't good enough, it should be a matter of outrage. From the public, from the media, from politicians of all colours. Questioning 100,000 (official) deaths, to me, is a bit more than 'carping'. Questioning the fact that we are the only country in the world, as far as I am aware, leaving 12 week gaps between vaccines, is a little more than 'sniping'.
Putting blind political affiliations before tens of thousands of people unnecessarily dying alone in horrendous circumstances in unconscionable.
Headlines such as 'Boris Battles Experts To Save Christmas' are 'political gain'. It's also an indictment for manslaughter.
Can anyone get through to the covididiots that the twelve week gap between vaccinations idea is not from the guvvernment.
Germany and Ireland both said this week that they were investigating extending the time between doses of the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine to beyond the recommended 21 days. Denmark opted to increase the gap to a total of six weeks, and the Canadian province of British Columbia has stretched the time between doses to 35 days as of the 8th January.
That the reason for our high death rate has not been established.
That Boris hasn't tailored his governments policies on age, ethnicity or weight.
Or does anyone seriously consider that all of the countries with lower death rates are all well run models of efficiency?
The sofa scientists driven by grudge politics are it appears alive and itching.

It's 'government'.
As I said, as far as I am aware, no other countries are doing this.
The WHO doesn't recommend it. The BMA doesn't recommend it. The manufacturers don't recommend it. Whether or not it is good practice remains to be seen.
Other countries, such as Vietnam, Taiwan, New Zealand had a zero Covid policy from day one. I doubt their leaders 'Battled Scientists'.
I know you skweem and skweem until you are sick when you hear any criticism of the Lying Hack, but you really should understand that we aren't all besotted by dishonest populists. Some can think for themselves and assess critically. Even Tories.

The principle of stretching the dosage regime is well and truly established and was not a product of Boris's fertile imagination just an earnest attempt to save as many lives as possible by people far better qualified than internet sofologists to make this sort of determination.
"guvvernment" is an expression for those who blindly blame the government for anything and everything because they don't know or simply don't like them.
I suppose it has its origins with people who didn't like "skool" too much.

I would gladly accept the foot stamping outrage over 100,000 deaths were it true. The simple fact is that this figure is, at best, a guess.
A simple examination of the statement accompanying the daily death rate announcement is enough to confirm this. All it says definitively is the dead had tested positive for Covid within 28 days - not that they had definitely died as a result of Covid19.
Given this, it is blindingly obvious the death rate figures from Covid19 can be nothing other than an overestimate, how great an overestimate will no doubt be established later.
Spain, another third world country according to your qualifying criteria, and the UK have the worst death rates in Europe. Spain's has been attributed to an aged population, a group considerably more at risk than young and fit.
The UK has a similar aged population but added to that we are also a nation of fatty people - another group at significantly greater risk.
I suppose the point I'm making is that the crisis the country faces is more complex than being the fault of someone you find morally reprehensible or - the fault of an organisation you find ideologically unacceptable.
I, along with many others, are getting tired of the sniping from the left - conducted from the comfort zone of not having to actually do anything.
Indictment for manslaughter, third world country - what tosh!

Astra Zeneca.
And after 48 hours no after-effects
Unless the place who rang you have spare shots 2nd time around will you get one, if you have bypassed the system so to speak how will the NHS know you've had the 1st?
Don't talke this the wrong way, not sure how to word it, I'd have done exactly the same given the opportunity.

You think that our government has exaggerated the amount of deaths? Really? World beating death rate?

If anyone's response to tens of thousands of people dying is 'yes but they were old / ill / too fat' then I'd question that person's humanity.

Can I point out, once again, this is not just your government. It is our government. As I have a vote, I have every right to scrutinise them. If the only thing you wish to read is 'Isn't Boris absolutely wonderful', then I suggest the comments section of the Mail might be the place for you.
Demanding voices be silenced just because you don't happen to agree with them is rather dictator-ish, wouldn't you say? You're tired of dissent? I'm tired of people dying. Unnecessarily. But yeah, sorry you're tired of 'sniping'.

Scientists tell Johnson to lock down. Scientists tell Johnson that lifting restriction on meeting up will cause an increase in cases. Johnson ignores, or 'battles' the scientists. The amount of people dying increases. As we all knew it would this month. Who is to blame for those people dying?

Oh dear, if the 12 weeks gap hasn’t come from government, where has it come from pray tell?
Scientists, medics, the manufacturers, indeed anyone with knowledge, no-one has recommended the 12 week gap, yes I fully understood the desire to get at least one injection into as many people as possible, but if this interferes with the effectiveness of the vaccine, then of course the exercise becomes self defeating, currently most recommended intervals between injections are not in excess of 6 weeks.
Plus with the delivery hiccups we have already seen the second injections could be delayed, that would not be good.

As somebody said on Sky News over the weekend of the Pfizer vaccine, the manufacturers instructions are 21 days, the approval to use was given on that basis so in effect people are being given something that in effect is not approved.
